Though I do not have a lot of opportunities to use a 4 foot level, this Swanson level worked great. I have used a harbor freight level for quite a few years and this one replaced it. It is light weight and easy to use. The bubbles are tight and accurate. I used to to level a pallet hanging as well as for leveling steps on my shed. It works great on flat services. Also for leveling on all sides, this level is perfect.

This 48 inch level is light weight and easy to use. This level offers a imprinted inch and centimeter scale on one side. This level can be used to check vertical and horizontal surfaces as well as 45 degree surfaces. This level is made of high visibility composite yellow plastic which makes it easier to spot when not in use. This level is perfect for setting cabinets, leveling appliances, checking vertical surfaces for plumb, as well as leveling any horizontal surfaces.

I got this for my shop after using one just like it at my dads. I was a little leery about it at first because its made of a type of plastic. Although it is a level, I primarily use it as a straight edge and after doing some close measurements was impressed how true it is. This is a great tool to have and is very handy to have for leveling and is great for marking sheets of plywood.

This is a perfect tool for a novice DIY'er who wants a basic level and doesn't want to spend a lot of money. On the one hand, the level has three seperate bubbles, one for horizontal, one for veritcal and one for 45 degrees. It also has a slot on one end to hang it for storage, as well as measurements on one side in both inches and millimeters. On the other hand, it is pretty flimsy. It can't really be used as a straight edge to verify evenness of a wall, for instance, because it flexes and bends pretty easily. So, a user would need to be careful in not pressing too hard against the plane you are checking for plumb or levelness since the flex of this device could give a false reading. It also does not have an opening on the side of the level to be able to view the bubble when the device is on edge. Overall, it's a basic device that could get a user in trouble by indicating something was not level when it is.

The material is a lightweight plastic, but it seems strong enough to withstand normal use. The level bubbles are easy to read, and a quick check of true verifies that they read correctly.
