Used this small set to line the under side of the rail on my deck. The installation is easy. The unit seems very water tight and I do not think I will ever have a issues of them shorting due to moisture. The set is totally expandable to include a longer length. The light brightness is right on to give a nice lake side appeal. I am sure I will get a lot of use from these. Love them.

I love it!
The only thing that would make me love it more is if there were a solar charging power source that could replace the AC power.
This is a very rugged outdoor product from Sylvania. The lights are quite bright, and uses will be limited only by your creativity and the availability of AC power.
The LED strip looks even more rugged than the ones you see on airplanes and some commercial buildings. You might be able to damage it, but you'd have to try really hard.
It plugs into AC power via a short cord that converts the power to low voltage for the LED strip, which is detachable from that AC power unit.
The strip has a sealed end that allows you to add strips to the same AC power source up to the limit specified in the included guide.
Teeny quibble is that the AC plug is not grounded, is just a two prong.... but the user guide notes that you should only use it in GFI outlets.
If HD were to offer a Sylvania Solar Power/Battery combination that could attach the LED strips, you could get even more creative.
