My experience with this purchase borders on unbelievable, here's what happened: When the product was marked 'not in stock' I thought I would call TAFCO to find another retailer or ask if a like new product would be coming soon to HD. June answered and told me she would get back to me, yah right!. In less than an hour she texted that they would be available to order the next morning. And they were!! Placed my order for 4 of them on Tuesday and they were delivered on Thursday. For me, the best online purchase ever. Arrived in great shape. This was for a basement retro fit into the metal frame of a tilt in window. I believe there is nothing available in a perfect fit, but my handyman was able to trim the flashing off (score and break/snap) and got them installed. Opens like a window should and looks a whole lot better than the builder crap. I confirm that to open you do have to pull on the lock as there is nothing else to grab on. Not a problem in my mind as we won't be opening these on a daily basis.

Excellent Quality Window at a Great Price
Windows were shipped to home. Excellent packaging prevented any possible damage to windows. Easy to install if the rough opening is properly prepared. Sliding side of window glides smooth & easy. Used window flashing tape to seal rough opening before installation. Caulked window frame (outside) w/clear silicone for weatherproofing. More flashing tape will be used over window edges before adding trim. Was it overkill to use these double-pane windows in a shed? Maybe, but the cost & quality were too good to pass up. Windows appear to be very well made. Highly recommended for use in any home or utility building.

      Good Deal for basement windows
i bought that window to replace my basement’s one, the contractor quoted me for $ 500 .i’ve fixed it /myself for about $125 included all material which i can use it for next project and i spent about 6-8 hours for first time ever . i’ve replaced the entire window included the old windows frame! it’s not an energy save or does not has energy sticker but its way way better than my old window and cool enough to save the energy or keep the basement in room temp.

Apparently these guys don’t measure too good
I just installed one of these, my opening was 32”x18”. The window should have been 31.75”x17.75” it measured 31 7/8”x 18”. That made the installation an gigantic pain. Once I got it in it’s actually a pretty nice window. Just take its size into consideration.

The only real problem with this window was the quality of craftsmanship. The window that opens was built into the frame a tad crooked (which did not retract from the functionality of the window, you could just see it with the naked eye), so we had to modify it. There's also really nothing besides the lock to hold onto in order to open and close the window. Other than that, it looks and works nicely, was the only one around this size, and also it is very inexpensive, so it works for us. We installed it in a bathroom we are having to completely remodel, so the images are before the bathroom is completely done. It is nice to have some natural light in there.

Flange on the window could have been a bit larger. I ended up using the screw holes inside the window to install. There is no handle to open and close window so you find yourself holding the lock lever to open and close. I'll probably install a little handle so my kids don't break the lever using that to open and close. For the price, it suits the purpose as a basement window replacement which replaced my single pane windows.

Shipped quickly and look great only ordered 2 initially and I like them so much I ordered 5 more today. These are a great value for the money. I never installed a window before and If I can anybody can. My number 1 suggestion is make sure you have all the tools, Table & jig saw are immensely helpful when reframing, replacing the sill cutting trim. I have 7 old and ugly single pane basement windows to replace. The 1st two look great and really brighten up the basement with all the light they let in. Of all the windows I looked at these offered the most glass for the 32 X 20 opening. These are the 1st windows I have ever installed & found the most difficult part was ripping out the old windows and reframing and replacing the sills. Once framed these windows are easy to install. My cats absolutely love them because now they have ground level close up view of the outdoors. The windows come with fiberglass screens and because of the cats I replaced the fiberglass with more durable aluminum screen (took 20 minutes).

I used this window to replace a really bad bathroom window in an old brick row home. It's only been installed for a couple of weeks, but so far it's a huge improvement over the old window, both cosmetically and performance wise. The window arrived on schedule, in perfect condition. Installation was simple and straightforward. My only negative about this window is the lack of a handle to slide it open. I'll probably put one on myself. But it slides easily and smoothly even though it would be great to have a handle to open it with. I recommend this window to anyone who needs a small budget friendly replacement or new construction window.

Excellent window, especially for the price. What a difference the double paned windows made. They were used to replace the original basement windows that were single pane jealousy type windows that were not air tight like these are. I was so satisfied with these that two more will be purchased soon to replace the remaining basement windows?

I bought two of the 31.75 x 18" ones for my basement, bought 1st one and installed, then bought the 2nd one and installed. The other more expensive one HD sells seemed to have less glass area and I wanted the maximum glass area, I think I got it. Removing the old metal framework and preparing the cement opening was very time consuming. The house was built in 1958 and the metal frame was heavier and embedded deeper than any shown on YouTube. I and a helper took over a hour each to remove the windows with a lot of concrete damage, especially on the bottom edge. I bought 10 lbs of HD's "Quick Setting Concrete", and used most of it to repair this damage. To install between the concrete surfaces the nailing fins had to be removed. The new window installation in the opening was relatively easy after the concrete was repaired. They look very good and the glass is insulated. The screen covers just the sliding glass area, not the whole window.

Excellent, just the window I needed.
I built a shed in my backyard, and wanted a window for both ventilation and to see out to my gate. I did some research to find one that was large enough, with a slide open to the left, and a screen. This met all of my criteria. I was a little concerned, the walls on my shed are only as thick as a sheet of plywood. I built up a 2x4 frame and mounted the window with that. The install went very well, the measurements that were supplied with the instructions were perfect. I may put in another one of these windows on the south side of my shed!

            Great window
These windows were smaller than I expected (no fault of Home Depot, I didn't actually map out the size), but they still worked well. I'm knocking one star because Home Depot doesn't carry small windows in their store, so you have to special order them (aside from the ones with privacy glass). That said, they arrived a few days fasted than expected, a plus! The windows are CLEAR GLASS. They open and close very easily and look nice. I'd definitely recommend them.

            Perfect Fit
Bought these basement sliders to replace original 1958 metal framed windows. The size fit perfect inside the metal frame that was cemented into my basement walls, so no need to rip the frames out of the concrete foundation and make a mess. Simple addedt wood frames inside the metal frame and anchored the aluminum cap and window to that wood frame. Covered the wood and metal frames with bent aluminum and then set the new windows inside and against that aluminum cap. Caulked the seems and finished. Looks great and the window slides with a good tight seal. Well worth the money.
