Absolutely possible, you can purchase fabric that you attach to the joists and blow the loose fill into. It's a lot of work, bit it's possible.

Very easy to install, but keep in mind that the insulation contains borate powder to kill pests. The power gets everywhere so be prepared to dust every surface of the house afterwards. Helpful hint:. Take a hockey stick (or a long broom handle) and tape it to the end of the house to create a 'gun' that makes it easier to hit those corners, and other hard to reach areas. It also makes it easier to direct where the fill is going.

I added about 6 inches of this insulation to the attic which seems to have made the house more comfortable and the A/C work a bit less. The purchase included the use of a rental machine for blowing the insulation. The only problem was that the hose on the machine had been spliced with duct tape many times. A couple of the splices separated resulting in insulation being released, making a bit of a mess.I can't speak about the pest control qualities yet - that will take some time to observe

Very dusty. We installed fabric on 2x8 wall cavities 12' high and once we observed how the insulation flowed in the wall, it became easier. Wiring and pipes caused some trouble, we cut slits lower in fabric in some areas for two-tier install which made it easier. Is still going to be a dusty mess until drywall is installed and mudded, we are caulking the bottom drywall sheet to sill plate for better sealing but don't know if it will help keep dust levels down after finish. Once we got to the attic, was a lot easier, just get within 10' of spot and blow. Takes a while to get feel of feeding machine and working hose so machine does not clog but still had a lot of clogging. Just need patience. We did (72) 28.5 lb bags plus another 9 bags we had left over from previous install in about 10 hours with up to 3 people. Wear that safety equipment.
