Does DIY installation void warranty?
DIY installation does not automatically void the warranty. However, any damage, performance issues, or component failures resulting from improper installation are not covered under the manufacturer's warranty. A critical part of the installation process is pulling a proper vacuum on the line set and indoor coil. This step removes air, moisture, and other non-condensable gases from the refrigeration system. The compressor is designed to compress refrigerant vapor only and is not intended to operate in a system contaminated with air or moisture. Moisture left in the system can also react with the compressor oil, causing it to become acidic. If a proper vacuum is not performed before startup, this acid formation can lead to premature compressor failure and damage other critical components, including Electronic Expansion Valves (EEVs), Thermostatic Expansion Valves (TXVs), filter driers, and other internal refrigeration system components. In addition, intentionally venting refrigerant into the atmosphere is prohibited under EPA regulations. Failure to follow proper installation and refrigerant handling procedures may negatively affect system performance, energy efficiency, reliability, and warranty coverage. For safety, regulatory compliance, and optimal system operation, TCL strongly recommends that all installation, commissioning, and service work be performed by a licensed and certified HVAC technician. looking to purchase a 230v unit. do i need a HVAC technician to come and pull vacuum to install? Or does this come preloaded and ready to connect and start cooling immediately??
The TH12SVH23XW condenser or outdoor unit comes factory pre-charged with refrigerant. However, the refrigerant lines and evaporator still need to be properly vacuumed before the service valves are opened and the system is started. A vacuum pump and the appropriate HVAC tools are required for this process.
