Product Details

With a maximum rated capacity of 8,000 lbs. (4,000 lbs. used as a single line) and a safe working load of 4,000 lbs. (2,000 lbs. used as a single line), the TEKTON 4 Ton Dual Gear Power Puller uses a ratcheting gear pulley system to move heavy loads with one handed operation. It is ideal for use in construction, landscaping, and farm projects. One anchor 5/16 in. safety latch hook and two 5/16 in. safety latch hooks allow for use as either a single line or double line. Safety latch hooks are self-closing for secure connections. Strong 1/4 in. aircraft-grade braided steel cable has a maximum pull length of 12 ft. 7 in. (7 ft. 3 in. used as a double line). Dual gears and locking pawls distribute pulling force evenly. The high-leverage, 21 in. steel ratchet handle with cushioned nonslip grip is comfortable to operate. With secondary pawls released, pumping the handle offers safe and controlled, notch-at-a-time letdown of large loads.

A:  Yes , I believe it will. I pulled a 32 ford pickup onto a uhaul trailer twice. No problems at all.

    by|Jun 12, 2019

A:  It should, unless your pickup is over 8000 pounds.

        Answer This Question

A:  I do not remember how long the cable is, but I used it pull my old 1932 pickup onto a car trailer( U Haul). ihad to change pull spot once. The puller did great . I also used the single cable instead of dobbling it.

        by|May 9, 2019

A:  I could not use the pully part, just straight cable. I had to move the pull point just once.

Q:I need to pull out stumps from 6 large bushes... Will this do the job?

              Answer This Question

A:  It can be used to pull stumps but it is made in China and can fail under load so be very careful.

              by|Apr 1, 2019

A:  it should do the job ,but get a chain wrap it around the trunk and hook it to your truck hitch if you have one

                by|May 5, 2023

A:  I used it too pull some large pine tree stumps ,it should be fine for that.

                  by|May 5, 2023

                  A:  Absolutely!

                  by|May 5, 2023

A:  Depending on the size of the stump, if stump is 6" in diameter give or take then it should. I have one and it's done more than I thought it would on my ranch

                    by|May 5, 2023

A:  Not sure. I use come alongs to take a tree in the direction I want it too fall with a long tag line, well cutting it. Some bushes have a stronger root system than you think it would put the odds at 50/50

I used this come along to lift, section, and then lower a 40 foot spruce tree that fell on our smokehouse roof as well as guide the felling of 8 more similar sized spruces. It worked well, including the notch at a time release function. The switch lever to engage and disengage the pawls is a little thin/weak. If you're careful using it, it won't break. Unlike another 4 ton come along I used previously, this one aligned and wound the cable well while under tension. It needed guidance to wind tightly and in line without tension. Overall, I'm happy with its function thus far. The attached picture shows the spruce trees we felled using this come along.

I used the puller to pull out several stumps (I usually put the stumps under load, then expose and cut the large roots with a reciprocating saw and add counter pressure with a lever on the opposing side like a breaker bar to bounce and break it free). While manually pressing on the release mechanism to reposition the puller, the metal lever failed and broke off. I've been otherwise happy with the product, although did not expect this component to fail so catastrophically, and unfortunately it rendered the entire puller useless. I've reached out to the support email to see if they cover it under warranty.

The product did work great with the exception it would not want to release at times when a good deal of pressure was put on it. I would give it a 4.5 star rating if available

                                              Better than others
WAY better design than most others, with the dual ratcheting pawls. The single pawl types tend to bend/twist the entire unit when they start reaching even single-line capacity. I normally use this for pulling stumps and this one works great!
