it works, liquid ant bait

TERRO - It Works!

Generations of consumers have come to know that the bright orange package stands for “Ant Control.”No matter what type of home pest control challenge you face, TERRO has the solution!

kill the ants you see and the ones you don't, liquid ant bait

Kills the Ants You See & Don't See

Foraging ants take the bait back to the nest. The communal nature of an ant colony allows the bait to be spread, killing the ants you see as well as the ones you don't see.

total population control, liquid ant bait

Total Population Control

Ant baits are designed to slowly spread throughout the entire colony to offer total control in just a few weeks.

attract ants, liquid ant baits

Attracts Ants

Since this is a bait, initially you will see more ants, before they disappear. But it's a good thing! The enticing sugary liquid can then spread through the entire colony.

how liquid ant bait works

How It Works

The active ingredient slowly interferes with the ant’s digestive system, ultimately killing it, but leaving enough time for the ant to go back and share the dose with the rest of the colony.

where to place liquid ant bait

Where to Place

Place near trails, along baseboards, in corners, on counters, under and behind appliances, on windowsills, and other locations where ants are numerous.

Use more liquid bait placements

The More Placements, the Better

Place additional bait stations anywhere they may enter your home. For best results, use multiple placements to ensure a sufficient supply for the ants.

remove attractants, liquid ant bait

Remove Other Attractants

Before placing the bait stations, be sure to remove other sources of food, such as crumbs, sugar and grease spots to prevent attracting ants elsewhere.

monitor liquid ant bait placements

Monitor Placements Regularly

Monitor placements regularly, but do not interfere with the pests or bait.

replace bait placements as needed

Replace Bait As Needed

Replace bait placements when the liquid is depleted or becomes dry.

prevent ants from returning, liquid ant bait

Prevent Ants from Returning

Once the colony is under control, keep placing baits to prevent new colonies from forming.

liquid ant bait attracts and kills all common household ants

Works on Common Household Ants

Liquid ant bait attracts and kills all common, sweet-eating household ants.

control ants indoors and outdoors, liquid ant baits

Control Ants Everywhere

Liquid ant baits can help you target infestations wherever they exist, whether indoors or out.

Attract and kill the ants you see and the ones you don’t with Terro Liquid Ant Baits. The liquid, which contains borax, is specifically designed to allow worker ants to consume the product, survive long enough to carry the liquid back to the nest. Ants consume the liquid ant bait and return to the nest where they pass it around to the rest of the colony. The active ingredient in the bait slowly interferes with the ants’ digestive systems, ultimately killing them. Since this is a bait product, you will initially see more ants as they are attracted to the liquid but don’t worry, this is a good thing. After the bait is consumed, insect populations will begin to decline. Complete control may take up to two weeks. For your convenience, Terro Liquid Ant Baits are easy to use and feature a new and improved snap-off tab design no scissors needed. To open the bait, hold the station vertically and twist the new and improved tab. Then place indoors on a flat surface near ant trails and other signs of ant activity. The more bait placements, the better. Be sure to leave the ant baits undisturbed while the ants are actively feeding on it.
  • Kills the ants you see and the ones you don't
  • Ready to use - set the bait, attract ants and kill the colony
  • Stay-fresh tab keeps liquid bait fresh until opened
  • Snap-off design makes it easy to open - no scissors needed
  • Use bait stations along baseboard, under appliances, on windowsills, and wherever ants are numerous
  • Place baits near ant trails or where ants are numerous
  • Use all 6 baits for best results to ensure ants receive an ample supply

TERRO® Liquid Ant Bait is made of water, sugar and borax. If this liquid spills onto a countertop, table, or floor it can be cleaned using mild soap and water. Spilled bait will harden over time. If this occurs, try placing a warm, wet cloth on top of it for approximately 20 minutes, softening the bait to make it easier to remove. Please contact us at 844-837-7644 with any questions.

I doubt it. The opening on the baits is small (ant size), it does not kill the ants directly/immediately. It relies on the ant's behavior of taking food back to the nest. In this case the food is poisoned.

The active ingredient is borax, not terribly harmful, but anyone could have a different reaction to exposure. Have had great success controlling moisture ants and can report no problems with our pets. (cats and dogs)

Will it kill sweet eating ants like Pharaoh

I can't say for sure, but I started using it on my neighbor's rec. for microscopic SUGAR ANTS (the scourge of South Florida). Given their name, it might be an indication of its efficacy for Pharaoh ants, It works like a charm for sugar ants, esp. now. Late summer is their prime home invasion season. They've apparently been multiplying all along, but by the end of the summer, after several months of torrential tropical rain *every day* perhaps they're getting flooded out of their hills/nests. This always seems to be when they show up. I saw the first few beginning to show up last week. I put out the traps and they've completely disappeared in a day or 2. I swear by these things - have several boxes as back up so I'm always ready at the first sign of ants. The strange thing is how it works - I really don't know. The first time I used it, I put them out and left for several days (a planned trip - not because of the ants). I came home expecting to find ants in the traps dead, They are called "BAIT TRAPS" after all. But there were none in the traps and yet there were none in the house either. I don't know if the liquid in the traps is some kind of repellent and perhaps they leave the house to get away from it. I have no idea how it works, but it definitely works.

Can these be placed under ovens

How hot is it under the oven. Its a liquid so you don't want to dry it out. Also, heat will cause it to expand and it makes a harded mess if it gets out so I would recommend against.

Yes. If you see them taking the bait, it will ultimately kill the entire colony.

It takes a while for it to work because of the process of it being taken back to the nest by the ants to kill the ants in the nest too. It's much better than having to constantly spray with poisons and just killing the visible ants. You just put it where you've seen ants. First you will see more ants but eventually they will disappear entirely.

I checked out the various ant traps and this was the number one customer rated on the internet. I have to agree. The toughest part about using these is not the kill the ants you have to let them eat their fill and what they live so they as can take the bait home home to the nest. You'll see in the picture I provide 2 Buffet lines

Definitely Works! Do Not Hesitate to Purchase This Item!
A couple days ago I started seeing the notorious little black house ants crawling around my floor. It is the Spring so this is the time when it is common to see these ants. I thought I could just get rid of a few with a napkin but kept seeing them every time I looked down at the floor. Our house is kept very clean so I didn’t know why they were coming into our house. I realized I needed something better so I bought this item at Home Depot and put a couple bait traps along the ant trails. I noticed they were coming from under the baseboard along the wall. Within an hour of two of putting them out a couple hundred little black ants swarmed the ant bait. Fast forward 24 hours, I noticed fewer ants and fast forward 48 hours when I woke up to check the floor and baseboard around the traps “ZERO” ants spotted. I would highly recommend these traps to get rid of little black annoying house ants. As a side note the ants can spill some of the liquid out of the trap and make a mess. Just use some floor cleaner and paper towels with some warm water and it will wipe it up.

Best ant killer I've found
Living in a pretty forested area ants are common and plentiful in my neighborhood, I have tried raid, off brand, home solutions, ignoring spiders you name it, these wiped out the whole lot of them in 2 days with only 3 traps. Never seen something deal with ants like these, and they cheap.

Very surprised
So, I am very surprised so far at what is happening. We have never had an ant problem in basically the 18 years living in this house. We just had a new oven installed a few months ago and now, BOOM! Ants I feel are coming from somewhere behind the oven. I am not able to pull it out myself. So I set out some typical baits to see what happened. Nothing. Broke down and called the exterminator and they have been out twice. Still no difference. So I came online and saw Terro. I had never heard of it before but saw the reviews and thought I’d try it out. I set out about 8 bait stations and watched the ants just walk about them for a few hours. I came back a couple hours after and the ants must have found it Bc they were everywhere!! Way more ants than I even thought were the issue!! Now they are chowing down on this stuff!!! Let’s hope it doesn’t the rest of the job well and soon they will all be gone!
