    A:  Hello Jim, thank you for your purchase. Yes, we recommend using both primer and cement to ensure the vent pipes are "glued" together properly. It's also important to seal the exhaust to prevent any CO from leaking out. Thank you, Thermalux.

      A:  Technically you can use a garden hose, but it depends on how much pressure the hose can handle. You would need a hose that is rated for 150 psi. This will probably be more expensive than using piping. We recommend having a professional install the unit.

        Tankless gas hot water heater
        All in all I like the way this gas water heater tankless operates it is very efficient and my gas bill has dropped in half however it was twice as much as a tank water heater so it will take longer for me to see true value.

        Excellent Quality, Easy Installation
        I have a tight area, installed at high altitude in the mountains and this unit is one of the few with such low clearance requirements. This unit is a dream to install for my purposes. Thermalux/Noritz are trouble free and just work. Also looks great.

          Not As Advertised
          No WiFi compatibility - must have two optional add-ons, a wired Remote Control and a WiFi Gateway. Not circulation pump control. Not able to set temperature below 120F without OPTIONAL Remote Control - and then lowest setpoint is 115F - no lower! Remote Control is not well documented - no user guide! Unit is small enough to be installed in standard 16" wall - but manufacturer stipulates a 6" clearance from BOTH combustibles & non-combustibles! Semi-flush mounting only possible when installed in Noritz's RB-510 recess box.

            Trash product with trash customer service
            This unit is mounted in the interior of my home and when calling Noritz for a warranty claim (after one week of use) I was told the unit was listing a code for frost damage, which is not possible as it is in a heated space and is exhausting to air that had not yet been exposed to frost. Their customer service is appalling. They were unwilling to assist, rude and acted as if I had sent them out of their way. I will never purchase another Noritz/Thermalux product ever again. Do not recommend

              Honest review to date.
              The product is relativity new but the unit is so much smaller that our other hot water heater. It allows additional space and so far all the hot water you need on demand. Only time will tell about longevity and dependability.

              Not worth the money
              Water heater that takes minimal space. Unfortunately does not have a remote so you must remove box cover to change settings. In addition, water to kitchen takes a long time to get warm; it never gets hot. Wad told this is because water pipes traveling through cement slab. Kitchen sink water is lukewarm at best in a new construction home.

              Resetting the water heater
              Water heater cuts off unexpectedly. Did it several times within 8 months. Put a remote panel in February. Went out about once a week for two months then worked fine for two months. Started going out every day for a week and now cuts off about every 10 days. Have to reset it on the remote panel
