Questions & Answers

Is there an extension available to accommodate installing unit behind a wall out of view?

Asked by: RB
Yes. A 3" pipe up to 36" long can be used. No specific pipe is required other than a regular 3" sewer pipe.

300 feet and incline 6 feet (slanted property to main waste pipe). Can I install 2ndary pump as well?

Half way up property can I install anther to push farther up property and put into a protective dog house?
Asked by: Birdie66
I would not recommend that. In fact I think it is a bad strategy. You never want to pump into a pump. Some devices can be put in series; like batteries. But with pumps there is a chance for conflict. Whenever you deal with sewage you want to have a thoughtful design so that it gets into a grove and you do not have to mess with it. Assuming I understand your description correctly you are only pumping vertically 6', This is not a lot. Your issue is the distance and the resulting drag caused by the friction as the fluid goes through the pipe. If you would like to call me we can trade ideas on what is the best way to go. But for now given the information provided, I would not put a second macerator in series. Instead I would use a sewage ejection package for the second pump. Take a look at Home Depot SKU 206450477 to illustrate this point. Put the number in the search block on the Home Depot web site and it will come up. You will see that this pump is in a tank. That tank will act as buffer storage. So the first pump will pump into it. And when the second pump chamber is filled it will cycle. My point is the pumps will not be working in series. They will work independently. This will prevent one pump from pressurizing the second. I am not saying this is definitely the pump you should use, we can talk about that, Instead I am trying to illustrate the concept. Chris 978 651 3301

Is there a combination to hook a vanity and a shower to this unit

Asked by: Treelike
I am sorry I am not sure I understand the question . You can hook a lavatory sink to this unit that is outlined in the specifications as well as the brochure on The Home Depot web site.

Purchased this product to add a laundry sink and urinal below the level of the waste pipe. Need to purchase ball valves for proper installation. This product only worked for 9 months. It leaked a lot from the midline junction (each half of the unit is held in place by a 3/16 inch threaded rod in the center of the unit). The reason why it stopped working is a faulty "Circuit Protection" switch. Called customer service, who were nice. They told me to try a hard reset by holding the start switch in for three minutes. Didn't help. Very little space to insert the waste pipes from the sink and urinal as these are all on one side together. It is impossible to find parts for this unit, and Thetford is exorbitantly priced for any parts they do have. 'O' rings were $45. There is no way to drain this thing without creating a puddle. Cannot recommend this product.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Horrible product Well, let's put it this way... when it comes to install a bathroom anywhere, I have found.. too late.. that the only great product out there is the Saniplus from Saniflo ! The bathroom anywhere product is NOT a macerator ! plus the inlets for the shower and the sink are located on the same side which make my installation VERY difficult. I wouldn't recommend this product to anybody.
