can this be used with a heavy duty hammer drill and if so do i need a seperate shank for it

Answer

Ronn, we don't recommend using hammer drill for this diamond bit. The diamond segments are welded/brazed on the bit and hammering action may break the segments.

does this item include pilot shank If not do you offer one

I didn't get an arbor with the one I ordered. Although I was able to find one on-line.

What arbor do I need to purchase for this? I'm using a Ryobi hammer drill.

Can this be used with reinforced concrete?

Yes, you can use this with reinforced concrete.

what drill do I need for this ?

Answer

5/8-11 thread fits on regular grinders/polishers. A variable speed grinder is recommended since the maximum speed for this bit is around 4000 RPM. If you use a electric drill, you will need to get an adapter (5/8-11 to 1/2" shank) to use this bit.

I was satisfied with the drilling aspect of the tool, although I'd hoped it would be a little bit quicker in cutting through the concrete. One complaint; unlike the picture shown, the tool I received had no clean-out slots in it! I had to remove the arbor and drive the "plug" out with a long punch after each hole.
