A:  i'm not a fish biologist, i can not answer that question without doubts. i can tell you i have kio and goldfish in my pond forever and have never had any adverse reaction from my fish. simple instructions tell you how to distribute the solution.

A:  We have a 20, 000 gallon pool we turned into a pond. We have large koi. We can dump in a whole gallon of the treatment, assuming the algae is not too thick, and the fish are fine. I assume other fish would do similarly.

This brand works better than most but it takes about 4 treatments to get rid of the algae. I have a fish pond that is ~1500 gallons as a reference. It doesn't hurt my fish or turtle, so 4 treatments aren't bad. I use it every summer for algae blooms and it works well on different types, especially the awful string!!

Hello, the formula and the dosage have not changed for the product at all. 2 tablespoons would teat 300 gallons of water which has not changed. We hope this helps.

I use Total Pond Algaecide in my fountain to keep the water clear. I add a capful three times a week in the summer and a cap full once a week in the winter, so a little goes a long way. We'll worth the money to keep the fountain water sparkling. Safe for the birds that drink from it as well.

Hello Paul. We are sorry you experienced this problem. This product does need to be used carefully following label directions for dosage. As algae is treated by an algaecide, it absorbs oxygen so aeration should be increased in a pond that is using an algaecide. In ponds where additional aeration is not an option or water treatments are not wanted to be used, consider using a UV Pond Clarifier. We ask that you call in so we can gather some information and see what went wrong. When calling in please refer to this review. Please contact our Customer Care Team at 1-888-412-6001, Monday – Friday, between 8 AM to 5 PM ET. We hope you give us another chance.

              Not a good product
If I could give this product a zero I would. It did prevent any algae growth or kill any live algae.

Hello. We are sorry you experienced this problem. This product is designed to treat algae over the course of a few days; however, you could be experiencing a new bloom of algae algae appearing as the old is being treated. It is important in these cases to determine the source of the problem to help with preventative measures. For example, is there an excess of nutrients, too much direct sunlight, or warm water. We would suggest trying a UV Pond Clarifier as another preventative measure for algae in your pond. We hope this helps!
