Thoughtful design, excellent faucet -- a hidden gem
I have an older 62" bathroom countertop with two sinks drilled for mini-widespread faucets. The new taller, larger faucets look out of scale, and I struggled to find a sleek smaller faucet. Toto is not a brand that was on my radar despite owning and loving their toilets. I finally thought to check, and their faucets get good reviews for quality and service. This one was an appropriate height and diameter, but I wasn't sure about the spout, which seemed too visually dominant in the photos. However, it is lovely when installed -- simple and elegant! Our bathroom has traditional raised panel cabinets, but this looks great! Flow from the faucet is excellent and I love the one-piece handle, which is both attractive and easy to use. The faucet is also designed to be practical, being quite easy to clean.
INSTALLATION: The faucet is designed for easy installation, but you will need someone to orient the spout while you tighten it to the countertop. Also, the faucet does not come with an escutcheon. I used oval 6.25" Luxier DKPL deck plates, which complement the faucet style. Installation of the faucet body was fast and trivial, but the drain was a different matter. The drain flange is designed for a newer sink with a flatter bottom than ours and the rubber gasket supplied to seal it would not conform sufficiently to prevent leaks. I needed to use plumber's putty instead. This is the reason that I gave the product four stars rather than 5.
