can these be used in a stucco wall

Answer

This product is designed to be installed in solid concrete, stucco would not provide enough mass to properly secure this anchor...Stucco is a surface coating usually applied over a dimensional wood substrate or a plywood substrate...If the stucco is applied over a block or brick substrate then use a tapcon anchor, if the stucco is applied over a solid concrete substrate, then this product would perform as intended...

(What's this)
Robust and simple. These anchor bolts mean business. They are not just scaled up version of smaller ones, but have been carefully designed to anchor themselves into concrete. First thing to notice is the tip is not designed to drill its way into concrete, you have to drill a hole first and the packet tells you exactly what size masonry bit to use. For these 1/2” bolts one needs to use a1/2” drill bit. The packaging goes on to also tell you that one will need a 3/4” driver to screw the bolt into the hole you drilled and the maximum torque of 70 ft. lbs. The threads on the end are slightly tapered so that the bolt can be started in the correctly sized hole. The underside of the head has small ‘flutes’ to prevent it from unscrewing. The 4” length is from the tip to the underside of the head. They suggest drilling the hole ½” deeper than the end will end up, i.e. 4 ½” less the thickness of whatever you are bolting down.

I have never used Tapcon before; heck, never heard of them before I started my project. I did some research, looking at ways to anchor safes to concrete floors and determined this product was pure genius for multiple reasons. The biggest is they are 100% reusable. The wing anchors are fine, but that wing ain't coming back out. Same with the anchors that use the sleeve that goes in the hole to secure the bolt. (Also, I tried this one before and had mixed results. Also, in my case, my application required that I drill all the way through the floor, so that little sleeve might just drop through.) Lastly, in the case of the anchors with the sleeve, you have a nut that goes over the top to secure the safe. In my case, I would have to figure out how to cut the top of the bolt off so I could put the cover cap over the hole in the base of my safe. (It's a safe, but no need to be barbarians here. The caps make it look clean and neat.) Enter, Tapcon. I drilled the hole, cleaned it out, then put in the Tapcons. (One site suggested a socket wrench, but that would have taken forever. My impact wrench worked wonderfully.) The safe isn't going anywhere until I say so, and when I do, I just move it, drill more holes, and put the same Tapcons back in. This is the way it should be!

The 1/2 in. X 4 in. Tapcon concrete anchors worked great. They were used to anchor 6 in. X 6 in. post bases to concrete footer in support of a set of stairs. The Tapcon concrete anchors snugged the bases down tight. They are easy to use and they do the job expected.
