Frustrating. Poor instructions, bad design, timer malfunctioned

(What's this)
First, the instruction manual is very poorly written, with grammatical errors and conflicting cooking times, along with a variety of odd recipes. I attempted to cook baked potatoes, by following the "Jacketed Potatoes in Foil" recipe. They are supposed to cook for 20 minutes. I followed instructions, setting the timer (a manual dial) and then the temperature. At first the oven was running, but then for some reason it stopped. We figured out on our own that the handle was up, and apparently the oven doesn't operate with the handle in that position. This was never mentioned in the manual. So, tried again for another 20 minutes, since the potatoes didn't cook. This time, I made sure the handle was down. The timer has a bell, but it never rang (doesn't work). I turned it off, took off the lid, which comes completely off. I realized that since the heating unit is just under the lid, it was extremely hot and I needed to find a safe place to put it down--had to get out a hotplate. An attached lid would have been so much better. Took out a potato, tested it with a knife, and it is still uncooked and hard as a rock. Frustrated that I wasted almost an hour on this and my potatoes still aren't cooked. Could've just used the oven.

Hi sorry you did not have a great experience using our Turbo Oven for the first time. The Lid Handle must be down to operate, this is a safety feature so in any case you need to remove the lid the heat will automatically shut off.
As for the potatoes the cook time is a suggested time frame and it does depend on the size of the potato. It is also suggested to use the high rack.
We are working on creating a more user friendly manual with more traditional home cooking recipes. We do provide a suggested cook time chart on our website. We hope you will continuing trying other recipes you may find online or otherwise. Thank you. TayamaUSA

(What's this)
I tried this turbo oven three different times with two different dishes. The first try was with potatoes.Following the directions in the manual, although not soaking the potatoes in water for the recommended 30 minutes, after the directed cook time and temperature the potatoes were rock hard, uncooked. Second try--I made meatloaf according to my usual ingredients versus the ingredients in the user manual, but otherwise following the directions explicitly. Result---after the instructed cook time and temperature, the glaze on the meat loaf was cooked and brown in spots, the inside was raw. Third try---one medium sized potato. I scrubbed the potato, let it soak in water for 30 minutes, patted dry and rubbed olive oil over it---exactly as instructed in the manual. I put it on the short rack and followed the instructed time and temperature for cooking. Result-an almost cooked potato. I let it sit in the unit after I turned the unit off and it did finish cooking on it's own, but that's not how you're suppose to have to cook. The recipes in the user manual are strange---combinations of ingredients that are not usual for a typical American recipe. The unit is easy to clean but that's the only positive thing I can say about this oven.

(What's this)
This "turbo oven" is basically a small convection oven. It's convenient to use and easy to clean. The food goes in the glass bowl and you then cover it with the lid/heating element. Set it to the temperaure you want, set the timer and leave it to cook. I thought that this would be considerable faster than a normal oven but when I cooked a whole chicken, it took about the same time as a standard oven. That was a bit of a disappointment but the chicken did turn out moist and tasted very good. This oven has temperatures ranging from "thaw" up to 500 degrees which gives you a lot of options for how you cook. The oven comes with a two tiered rack so depending on the size of your food, you can cook on two different levels. You could even cook two different foods at the same time. My only disappointment was the food not cooking as fast as I thought it would but I still recommend this.

(What's this)
As a handyman this review was out of my area of expertise so I called on my wife to get the results. It is good for a couple of two when a smaller oven is needed. I am glad it came with the handles and trivet combined, but for added safety I put it on my cast iron trivets so as not to heat up the brand new counter top. Now for the review of the oven. It might have been better to have an insulated bowl rather than glass to prevent people from getting burned. But the glass is nice to have so you can look in and how the food is cooking. The oven worked well at my hubby's birthday party keeping the snack food coming.

Can you cook a turkey in it ?

I believe that as long as the turkey can have air circulating around it in the oven you should be able to but with the experience I've had, I wouldn't count on the turkey being fully cooked---definitely use a meat thermometer to make sure the turkey's cooked.
