My wife could not decide between: Sateen Cotton Standard Pillow Protector and the Ultimate Cotton Standard Pillow Protector My simple solution was, 'get one of each and see what works for you', and ocassionally swap them. I sleep with a soft down filled pillow and my wife uses a stiffer foam type pillow. I like the protected zippers, nothing to grab a facial or arm hair in the middle of the night. My wife's comments below... There are two different pillow covers, similar style, but slightly different materials. One is a more solid material, the other has a sateen stripe to it. Both are soft and have the zipper not at the end of the case, but offset a couple of inches and covered, which makes it nice. Both fit well, with plenty of room for a standard pillow. They seem very durable. Thumbs up!

Buy a firm if you like medium firmness!

Thank goodness for the reviews here! They saved me from an annoying mistake. I wanted medium firmness, but listened to the reviews here and bought a firm. Thank goodness, because it's perfect! It can still be easily molded to support the back of your neck, etc, yet it keeps its shape nicely. I LOVE that these pillows have no "crunchy" sensation, as had previous down/feather blends I have tried from other manufacturers. Very happy!
