We bought an LG microwave which melted the glass carousel after a year of use. Asurion, the insurance company behind the protection plan put us through the hoops for '2 months'! The 1st tech said it's not repairable. I guess they didn't like that answer so they send a 2nd tech about 'a month' after we 1st contacted them. The 2nd tech of course said the same thing. After a few more phone calls they finally agreed to 'replace' the glass carousel. 'How is that going to prevent the defective product from burning down my house next time I use it?' I ask. 'That's what the tech recommended' which of course is NOT TRUE since I personally talked to the tech. In frustration I go to HD and ask for help. They call and are told the claim has been 'denied'. Now I'm thinking about legal action. Next day I get an email that the refund is on its way. I was happy but it felt bittersweet. Last year I bought about 40k from HD on my commercial account. So far this year about 15k. I love HD and their in-house service, it's 2nd to none and I'd give them an easy 5 stars. Why they would stick with a company that has 1 star ratings and can't get a higher rating than 3 stars on 'ANY' of their products doesn't reflect very good on HD I'm sorry to say. They are in the driver's seat and can demand better service for their customers from Asurion or else. DON'T BUY THE PLAN!!

I have been almost two months without an operating dryer or any kind of assurance from home depot or asurion that my Samsung dry which is still under a 3 year warranty will be repaired. The entire process of communicating with home depot and asurion lack transparency for three reasons. 1. Asurion does not provides relief for broken appointment promises by repairmen or women. 2. Home depot does not follow up on open claims effectively 3. Many of the service company either home depot or asurion contracts do not work on the weekend. If home depot can correct these three problems, I am sure more customer will find their insurance product more useful and less complicated.

Prior to making the purchase we inquired through the home depot call center if the 3 yr warranty provided coverage after the expiration of the manufacturers warranty. We were informed that it did. They confirmed that we had 1 year of manufacturers warranty plus and additional 3 years of Protection Plan which commenced subsequent to the expiration of the manufacturers warranty. Upon registering the product on the protection plan website we noticed 2 points: 1. The purchased date was used as the commencement date for the warranty rather than the delivery date. The elapsed time was 5 days after the purchase date. 2. Instead of having an expiration date 4 years from the delivery date, the website indicated 3 years from the purchase date. Upon calling 1 800 HOMEDEPOT, we were informed that the previous representation by the HD Customer Representative was incorrect and that we had to seek a refund from another company called Asurion. This is not exactly the level of customer service that I was expecting.

Once you purchased then you have problem with your appliances. They might take long time to take care of your problems. The whole process is ugly. Totally waste your time.

I Called the Home Depot Warranty number, who sent a repairman over- who stated that he didn't work on Samsung- very convenient. I then had to wait 2 weeks for a new repairman to come. However, the new repairman cancelled last minute and stated it would be another 1-2 weeks before he could come out. I am already going on 3 weeks without a washing machine. I have called the service center at home depot, who just reads from a script and will not address the issue, or make an attempt to get a repairman over sooner. This whole experience is very frustrating and I will never purchase another appliance at Home Depot again.

Home depot appliance protection plan is a complete waste of time and money. I have been trying to get my dishwasher fixed which is under warranty. Asurion has been sending contractors who are either no show or can't figure out the issue. Now they have scheduled a fourth contractor after 2 no shows and one who was really unprofessional. Don't bother calling them they have no shame and do not mind taking you in circles. Totally disappointed.

Called to get it repaired and 2 weeks and 2 techs later My washer still doesnt drain......i have called numerous times and all they say is they will send another tech. Waste of money, that line of well replace it if we cant fix it is all a big LIE.
