The bucket is not food grade. All food grade buckets are made from HDPE #2 but not all HDPE #2 buckets are food grade. This bucket specifically says "not food grade" in product overview.

Are there lids available for this bucket?

Asked by: Homey53
Not at the Seaside CA store. Web site says the closest lid is 85 miles away! I'll just use plywood and a brick for now to keep the squirrels out...

Does all the things you would expect a bucket to do: holds stuff, liquid or dry, you can even fill it with ice and beer. It's a heck of a bucket, and the orange color makes it easy to find in the wilds of tanzania and my garage. Yep, it's certainly a bucket, no doubt about it. Seriously, a decent deal on a bucket if you need one not already contaminated by oil, sheetrock mud, or spilled beer.

WARNING these are not the same pails Home Depot Has sold in the past under the Leaktite name ! These pails are brittle and crack easly. The rim will break just using a rubber hammer to put the top on. The pails now have a different physical look and the handles come off or break off very easy.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from There once was a man from Nantucket... In the words of Homer Simpson, "Mmmmmmm bucket." I love these buckets - inexpensive and durable. Wish they came with lids, but lids can be purchased separately. I use these buckets for weeding, carrying tools, and storing stuff (cement, sand, potting soil, salt for the driveway). I even built a dust collection system that fronts the shop vac in the workshop (I got the idea from Youtube -- the bucket prevents fine dust from clogging the shop vac filter and protects the motor). There once was a man from Nantucket, who liked to make things with a bucket. He watched things on youtube and discovered a proposal. It made him a dust-suck-disposal. ...not my best work, but you get it. Great bucket!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Recent decline in quality!! I'm a tile setter and my company probably buys 30 buckets a month. Up to this point we never really had an issue. Within the last few weeks we've seen a noticeable decline in quality and durability. Not sure if they're coming from a different manufacturer or what. All I know is they are complete garbage now. If you're using buckets for anything more than washing your car or something I would suggest not buying these!

Once the lids are on, they stay on! Having the rubber gasket in the lid makes a huge difference. I use the homer buckets for all serts of different projects from planters to rabbit houses. I have dozens of these buckets. The only complaint i would have is that the handle guard (part that you hold onto) is pretty fragile and breaks pretty quickly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It's a sad day Do we really need reviews for five gallon pails? This one comes with a nice metal handle that also has a white plastic section where you grab onto the handle which feels much nicer in the hand than the metal alone. Just like all other five gallon pails. Unfortunately there are no color choices you must live with deer season orange. No leaks! Next please see my review of McDonald's napkins!

I tried one from a similar store and the bottom cracked in a short period of time so I will stick with the orange bucket from Home Depot from now on. I bought three just because I like them so much.

Not only can you get behind the blazing orange color, but it’s helps to get the job done anywhere a bucket could be used. I will definitely buy more as needed in the future.
