Our laundry door is 12 in. deep, giving you extra space for your laundry, as well as plenty of storage on top with 2 adjustable shelves. With standard sizes of 30 in., 32 in. and 36 in. this door can fit into most of your standard interior door sizes. Be sure to download the app BILT to access the most user-friendly instructions for installation.
  • The Murphy laundry hamper door is 12 in. deep
  • Inswing doors will lose 6 in. of pass through and outswing doors will lose 14 in. of pass through, inswing doors will not work on a wall deeper than 4-9/16 in.
  • Available sizes: 30 in., 32 in. and 36 in.
  • Comes unfinished so you can match your existing colors exactly or you can select from our 7 woods types and 6 different finishes
  • Framing rough opening needs to be 2 in. larger than the door size, example: for a standard 36 in. laundry hamper door the rough opening will need to be 38 in. x 82 in.
  • Must fasten to structural framing to secure properly; requires installation, installation screws are included

Q:Opening width for 36" x 80" door?

A:  Hello Brian, we apologize for the delayed response to your question. The framing rough opening needs to be 2 in. larger than the door size (example: a standard 36 in. dresser door rough opening will need to be 38 in. x 82 in.).     A:  Hello, Lore. We apologize for the delayed response to your inquiry. Thank you for your interest in The Murphy Door Hidden Laundry Hamper Door. That size can be special ordered, but please be mindful of the limited pass through clearance this will create. The Hamper door is 12" deep and with an out-swing will lose 15" in the pass through. With an in-swing they will lose 6" but they will need 6" of clearance from the rough opening to anything adjacent on the hinge side. We hope this information is helpful in your decision making.
