So Easy to Use
Pex piping has made plumbing work easy for the professional and the DYI plumber. This 3/4" blue colored (signifying cold watery) supply pipe works for supply main lines in residential applications. It can either be connected with brass or plastic fittings using a compression ring (HD carried the manual ring clamping tool). The PEX-A pipe also can be flared to accept a fitting and no ring is necessary. It's easy to cut and installs to joists with premade mounting clamps. The blue color (also comes in red) makes it easy to identify the cold water line. This also transitions easily to PVC or copper with the proper push -on fittings. No more needing to solder pipes which makes this an easy learn for novice DIY individuals.

PEX-A pipe- a DIY's dream. Easy to use- cut and fit.
As a DIY'er PEX has been a great product. I am in the process of replacing my 50+ year old leaking copper with PEX and also running an underground line to my shed. I never liked using a torch inside a building- now I can throw it away and use one of several fitting systems including Shark Bite push fittings. At present there are 3 types of PEX pipe now labeled -A, -B or -C. All of the pipes are the same size- the letters just refer to how it is made. PEX-A is stronger and slightly more flexible. You can use crimp ring fittings, push fittings or expanded fittings with PEX rings. The pipe will tolerate freezing- by expanding as needed and then shrinking back to its original size. Will not sweat in summer time like copper pipes.

3/4 Inch PEX Tubing
The Plumber's Choice 3/4 in. x 300 ft. Blue Polyethylene Tubing PEX A Non-Barrier Pipe and Tubing for Potable Water works very well for my new building. The tubing is connected together with PEX fittings and the tubing cuts well with a PEX tubing cutter tool. I highly recommend this tubing for any new construction needs. This tubing can withstand water pressure up to 100 psi.
