Natural Stone Veneer, The Real Thing Natural stone obtained from quarries, made into 2 ft. x 4 ft. panels that are 2mm thick by bonding high strength polymers directly to slabs. The polymer then forms a durable and waterproof backing layer. After the backing has chemically bonded (with a very high strength) the face of the stone is split from the slab. The split face follows the natural cleft of the stone and becomes the finished visual layer of true stone. The surface is the true stone, with an unseen polymer backing (when Installed) that enables the stone to function in new and revolutionary ways the split surface of the stone and the natural difference between each stone provides the utmost in true stone looks. With a function not possible in real stone slabs or tiles.
  • Each stone is absolutely unique, this process requires a blend of state-of-art equipment and hand process, high quality materials such as resins and fiber mesh along with a high degree of skill by trained people are what is required to make the final product, much like reclaimed or hand-hewn wood, the final finish process is hand crafted

  • Installation: installation of versa lite stone veneer is quick, simple and easy, simply apply the proper adhesive to the back of the versa lite stone veneer sheet with the proper sized trowel for the substrate and mount the sheet in place, starting in the center of the sheet, using a roller or hand pressure, work any trapped air out towards the edge of the sheet, after adhesive has cured, you may finish the edges with any grout or trim pieces to match or accent the given decor
  • Flexibility: versatile stone veneer can be used in many of the same applications as other thin laminate products are used, it will bend to a small radius depending on the stone color or type, with the assistance of heat, smaller radius can sometimes be achieved, testing should always be done prior to any installation, versatile stone veneer can be bent inward or outward to meet a given look or architecture, fiberglass strand is used in the makeup of versatile stone veneer, which gives it superior strength and flexibility, please see TDS sheet for more information

      A:  VersaLite Stone Veneer is considered to be fireproof. However, delamination due to high heat depends largely on the type of adhesive used.

          I ordered one of these to see if it was a candidate for our big fireplace. It arrived today and it looks unlike the picture ad represented, (See "The Tile Doctor Stone Veneer Indian Autumn 2 ft. x 4 ft. x 2mm (8 sq. ft.), Tan / Gold") This is darker with more grey, charcoal, reddish browns, and light and dark green..... It looks however Stunning! Awesome look! They are lightweight compared to our other candidates of large format tile. The real stone it comes from, varies throughout each piece and has a WOW factor of 3D, even when touched, it feels and is textured. It is also flexible so it may be used as a wrap for round posts and columns. No foul smell either! We were looking at $$$ for purchase and installation of large tile with a boring color and no noticeable texture. Now, my wife and I will be able to install this ourselves as DIYers.. Do yourself a favor and order a 2' x 4' panel or two for your next project.

            Color is Way Off
            As others have noted, the tan/gold is not light colored. It's a dark gray coloring. Really disappointing since this isn't the color scheme that matches my bathroom. I realize that stone can vary but the color is not even close to what's depicted. Too bad. Definitely returning.
