Questions & Answers

Why doesn’t the works toilet bowl cleaner work like it use to be COVID-19 ?

Asked by Sam June 4, 2021

I bought this product a couple of years back to try it and ended up returning it. As far as I'm concerned, it's nothing special to say the least, didn't clean my toilet at all, was about as effective as using water and dish soap. Want to clean your toilet?? Do it the way they did it in the early 1900's. Some Ajax and a toilet brush and maybe a little bleach. My grandmother always had a clean toilet and there were no "special" products to clean with then.

This question would be best answered by the corporate office. I don't know where you live, but I currently buy this product at my local grocery store in Hopkins MN.

Asked by Eric July 9, 2020

Always take the time to look up a product's website. If you had, you would have found that they have an "800" number, that might be helpful. I personally don't like the product. Tried it, returned it, it didn't work as advertised.

Will the product damage drains or a septic tank?

No, the product will not damage drains or a septic tank.

Best cleaning product
I am so impressed with how well this product worked. in the process of moving an bd looking to get my security deposit back. Current product (blue bottle) has 20% active ingredient but it will change to 9% (green bottle). Disclaimer: had difficulty editing my review so please excuse the misspelled or grammatical errors!

It looks clean but does not feel clean. Not to mention that the stuff is so watery that it all goes straight to the water; might as well just pour it in instead. I guess all the smelly stuff does make a difference.

Best product on the market and relatively unknown. It will get calcium stains, rust stains, etc. out of your toilet, tub and sink. My cleaning lady told me she couldn’t get a stain out of the sink during a clean out. I handed It Works to her and she got stains out of literally everything, Thought we were going to have to replace the garden tub but it came clean! This product is a game changer!

Instatntly left blue stains that I cannot scrub off!
This product actually put my job at risk. I am a custodian and after ONE use, one squirt, The Works left blue stains in the toilets that no amount of scrubbing seems to remove. I need help to fix this!

Turns Toilets Blue
I have never had this type of reaction from a toilet bowl cleaner before. It turned my entire toilet bowl blue. I had to scrub it with oxygen bleach crystals and Clorox bleach over a 2 hour period of time to get it clean. Absolutely horrible!

Left blue rings around the water line in my toilets
I would not recommend this cleaner. It left blue rings around the water line in the toilet bowl. It also left blue streaks down the sides of the bowl. The blue rings do not go away with scrubbing and numerous flushings. I also tried to remove the blue stain with bleach, but that didn't work. Not impressed. :(

The Works Toilet Bowl Cleaner
The Works Toilet Bowl Cleaner made with HCl works wonders. I highly recommend The Works IF ... Their formula that uses Sulfamic acid is a waste of money. I ordered six (6) bottles of The Works which uses Sulfamic Acid instead of HCl (Hydrochloric Acid) and now I am out $35.00. I wish I could find The Works that uses HCl instead of Sulfamic Acid.
