Can the mats be turned “on and off” along with the cartridges, or do they expire 4 (or 12) hours after you open the pack
Asked by NewCustomer July 11, 2020there is a turnoff for the lantern and when that's off your mat will cool down. You get a lot more mats than you'll need so if you wind up changing the mat there isn't a problem. The butane is what lasts the longest. If you remember to shut it off. I've forgotten many times.
What is the difference between the model #E-4 refills and the model #R-4 refills?

Is it safe for babies?
Asked by ad0813 June 29, 2018Yes as long as you do not allow your child to get too close to it . the device gets a little hot and puts out fumes that deter the mosquitoes but is not harmful if you do not directly inhale the fumes.
Will this work on Yellow Flies (Deer Flies)?

Asked by Whatevermom June 11, 2018Yes it does use the refills and the mat is the blue looking thing that has the repellent in it, the refill is the fuel source that heats the repellent in the mat. Great product keeps bugs away.
Will the regular refill fit the Halo?

Does the refills have an expiration date or shelf life?
Asked by ticks July 24, 2016I haven't seen one on the packaging or sleeves they come in. I have used mats from last year without any apparent reduction in ability.
Can I travell in a comercial airliner?
Asked by Del January 16, 2016I don't know but I think it would be no different then having a butane litter in your luggage but I don't fly on airplanes.
