A:  there is a turnoff for the lantern and when that's off your mat will cool down. You get a lot more mats than you'll need so if you wind up changing the mat there isn't a problem. The butane is what lasts the longest. If you remember to shut it off. I've forgotten many times.

A:  Yes. The repellent mats can be used again if you used them for less than 4 hours. Just keep the partially used mat out of direct sunlight, and we recommend putting them in an airtight bag.

A:  The E-4 gives off an earth scent. It is designed to mask your scent when you are hunting or fishing from what I read about it.

A:  The E-4 model is an earth scent meant for an outdoors person to cover their human scent and smells like dirt. The R-4 refill is unscented.

A:  Unofficial: In the absence of any specific warning, I would guess it would be OK - but we've used our outdoors. I wouldn't use it indoors - baby or no baby.

A:  Yes as long as you do not allow your child to get too close to it . the device gets a little hot and puts out fumes that deter the mosquitoes but is not harmful if you do not directly inhale the fumes.

A:  It's labeled as being safe. Use it in a well ventilated area, for sure. Not indoors or in a tent. If I'm close to mine, I can smell a faint odor. I get concerned about inhaling fumes. But I don't like putting bug spray on my skin. Personal call. I'm comfortable using mine around my family outside. I just don't put the thermacell on a table directly beside us or close to our faces, for example. They work amazing! I have several, most of my family members have them... Living in the South, we don't spend much time outdoors without at least one going. The neighbors were impressed with how well they work and have now purchased one as well.
