I used two jack posts to hold up the roof of my balcony while I replaced rotted lumber including one vertical support post. There was never a moment I felt unsafe, as the Tiger Brand Super S Series 8' 4" jack posts worked flawlessly. The investment was definitely worth it, in terms of personal safely and in facilitating the lumber replacement.

I needed to take out a wall to open up my work shop and have more usable floor space. Using 2 of these Jack Posts made the job so easy and quick, After taking the pegboard down on both sides, I added four 2X12 12 feet long by nailing one on each side to the studs and another to each of these. Then I bolted all 4 together with 3 3.4 inch bolts.I then placed the jacks under each end of the new beam and snugged it up and then a little more. Using a reciprocal saw, I cut out the studs flush with the beam and pulled them out of the bottom wall plate. the main shop area was a one car garage and had a 2 inch drop to make it easy to wash out and there was a concrete ledge poured for the wall plate to sit. After the studs and plate were pulled out, an angle grinder with a concrete blade made it easy to cut the ledge out of the way. In less than a day, I was able to double my open work space and without the Jack Post, It would have been much more difficult and dangerous. And,the Jack Post's are there forever as the support for the wall.

I bought 12 of these to hold one side of my house up while I replaced the supporting beams- which had termite damage. They worked very well. One thing I did notice is that the end plates bent a little on the ones that held a lot of weight. The plates could be thicker- but it still worked and a great product for a really good price.

Very useful
The jack post was used in conjunction with other jacks to raise a ceiling from within a house before placing a new support beam in place. I was able to raise the interior ceiling 1.5 inches where it had sagged over the years. I accomplished this with no damage to the sheet rock textured ceiling.

Make a very useful Forewood stacking system
Using two treated landscape timbers, two treated 8' 2x4 studs, and two cinder blocks you can make a very stable firewood stacking system that will keep your firewood off of the ground. If built out in the open, a tarp can be draped over the 2x4s to keep the rain off of your logs and still allow for air circulation to dry out your wood.
