Fantastic Product
Fantastic product, used screws vs clips. Cut ends need special glued on pieces to match top. Wish they sold those. We are in Eastern Washington with wind and dry climate, Jensen this pvc decking is required to last years. Would use again. Deck is over 450 square feet. So expensive but very nice. Waiting for swim spa!

I rebuilt my bridge after 20 years as a Covid project so have lived with the Azek Vintage in Mahogany for 2 full years and I love it. My old composite got slippery in the winter so I tore it out and replaced it. We live in Minnesota so I shovel it (with a plastic shovel, not metal) and have both rinsed it with the hose and pressure washed it. No problem. I followed the instructions on stringer spacing and anticipated it expanding in the sun and left appropriate gaps to accommodate.

For the price of this stuff, you would think the quality was better compared to a lot of the options out there. I just finished installing this as a 20x14 low level deck, and have already noticed surface scratches in several areas. We have barely put it to use yet and I have been very careful moving anything over the surface of it. A couple chairs and a table all of which have plastic sliders on the bottom, and are fairly lightweight could not have caused this already? The manufacturer edge on these boards are not square either so you have to cut all ends to make everything line up. I had much higher hopes for this product. My order was also delayed twice before it arrived. I am still awaiting a call back from several attempts of calling my local Home Depot store and talking with management (was assured a call back yesterday and it did not happen). Kinda feel like a dog chasing his own tail at this point... You're better off with treated lumber compared to this stuff!

The only reason for four stars is that this is is a very soft material and it will flex around bumps and require extra screws to secure wobbly areas down which minimizes the looks, but, when you are all in, you are in into this material. Would have been nice if they offered more width choices cuz when you cut them one side is not factory rounded and has a rough edge that exposes the inner material and color. Once installed though, this material is soo problem free. Cannot screw in and unscrew special colored screws that have counter clockwise thread by their neck multiple times though because it destroys the thread first time around--do it right the first time or use regular screws gently without driving them too much. Nuf said.

Overall Review
I installed Timbertech Azek Mocha at my camp in Maine and house in Northeastern Mass on the coast. A few things to keep in mind.
Color - Whatever color you choose make sure you keep in mind HEAT and SUN. The darker the color the HOTTER it gets in direct sun. The Mocha color is SUPER hot in the full hot sun here in Massachussets. How hot? You cannot walk on it with bare feet in the July sun. Impossible without burning your feet so please keep that in mind.
Price - The Pro Legacy line is expensive! Add screws, plugs clips, etc, and its pricey! Also, add inflation to the cost of the product with installation screws, clips, etc and you will find it's not a product many people can afford. Especially if you're installing it on a large deck.
Quality - The Pro Legacy line is solid and well constructed for a man-made product but does scratch, does get wavy if you do not have a level deck and nothing lasts forever. However, if you're looking at a product that will take abuse and is well made for composite this is a great choice. I would put this up against any composite on the market Go ahead and compare it to the low-end stuff on the Home Depot decking shelf and no comparison and the Pro Legacy is clearly higher quality. Also lets be honest with ourselves it's man-made and does not look, feel or come close to the beautiful classic look of mahogany or IPE.
Installation - The obvious planning to be sure your deck footings, framing, flashing, and posts are well constructed before laying the decking. Predrill all holes for screws and dont attempt to screw directly without pre-drilling. Cortex color match plugs are a perfect color match and make sure you follow the plug grain with faux board grain.
