Product Overview

These reclaimed wall planks are made from perfectly-preserved timber that sank to the bed of the Penobscot River more than a century ago. For generations, lumberjacks used Maine's rivers and lakes to move their old-growth logs to our state's many paper mills. This vital byway even made Bangor, Maine the "lumber capital of the world" at the turn of the century. Wood doesn't float forever, though, and much of it sank to the bottom never to be seen again. Until now, At Timberchíc, we dredge the depths of Northwoods waters, returning our lake to its natural eco-system and pulling out this high end timber that's rich in character, stunning in color and full of unparalleled beauty and uniqueness. Now you can give any room the look of modern, rustic elegance knowing there's a rich story behind it.
  • Sourced and repurposed locally: these Timberchic wooden wall planks are handmade out of 100% reclaimed wood found in Northern Maine lakes
  • Calculate how much you need: it is so easy to calculate how much Timberchic you will need, here's how to do it; measure your desired space and simply do the math, height (inches) x width (inches) ÷ 144 is equal to your square footage needed
  • Do it yourself: our wall planks offer a straightforward peel and stick application that instantly transforms the look of your space in a matter of moments with almost no clean-up
  • Flexible dimensions: planks arrive in varying lengths between 12 in.- 42 in., are 1/8 in. thick and boxes are available in 10, 20 or 40 sq. ft.
  • River planks: the original and best-selling Timberchic; these planks we leave all-natural to showcase the true beauty to be found in our Northwoods waters

The wood was high quality and the assembly was a breeze. The panels are extremely thin, which negates the need for extra adhesive, and could be put up on the wall in seconds. It makes an awesome accent wall in our main tv room!

Quite impressive. Initially thought this was a wall paper-like product when ordered online but to my surprise it is actually wood planks or the best imitation-I can’t tell. So the look and feel appears authentic, exactly what I was looking for. Just keep in mind, prior to installation you must unbox and let the planks acclimate to the indoor climate for proper adhesion. It even includes black stickers to “cover up” the wood knots. (Happen to be quite a lot of them in my batch but that just adds to the beauty of this product) Seems like they thought of everything. Installation wasn’t difficult just a bit time consuming mostly because I wanted the pattern to look natural and right. Basically arranging the planks in the best order for the look I wanted to achieve. Beautiful product which can be put up vertically or horizontally.

I wish I could make this a 2.5-star rating. First off, I realize 20 sq ft is not a lot of material, but for over $13 per square foot, it better be phenomenal. Sadly, this product is not. The wood is thicker than a veneer and very pretty. The sticky tape on the back appears to stick well - however, we stuck it to a flat door, not the wall. They sent black round stickers to use behind any knot holes - in case you don't want the wall (or board) to show through. Which is a good idea, but part of me wonders if dust will collect in there and stick as well - so we skipped using them. It would take six boxes to cover the wall I was thinking of using this on. I just don't feel the product is worth that expense. Instead, I used this to cover my pantry door. If you have the money and like the look, then you will be happy. However, I just feel there are less expensive options that are just as good and maybe better.

Got the black which seems more very dark brown with some variations. Lots of knot holes in about 1/3 of the boards. Looks like rustic old barn wood. Had to paint where it looks like rough sawing left bare spots in the finish deep down. We did have to add a few 1" paneling nails to keep it close to wall in places. It is cut into 3 different sizes to vary pattern of planks. They also give you stickers to place on wall in a dark color matching finish to place to hide painted walls because knot holes go all the way through. I tried not to use the boards with several large holes, again I said rustic and real wood. Easy to cut with jig saw. 3 stripes of adhesive on each board and seems knot holes were always on the adhesive line so would have had to cut that away to expose the black stickers on the wall. I had enough good boards for what I needed it for. If a large space is done buy extra boxes due to some bad boards.

This product is pretty neat! It was easy to place the boards on the wall. We used a miter saw and a razor to cut occasional pieces to make them work with our project. After we were done, we stood back to look at our work in progress. It looks brilliant. Because the product was so easy to work with, it helped us get the project done faster. The product is really good stuff, we didn't have any issues with it at all. The company that designed this product also supplied a thank you card with handwritten signatures, it really made us feel at home with this company and gave it a personal touch. Also included was some black circle stickers to keep the wood holes looking uniform and nice.

As a lover all of things ship lap and pallet wall, I was excited to try these real wood applique panels. As soon as I opened the box, I liked the color of the wood. It's a grayish brown, but still has a dark tone to it. I was surprised that the boards were already variable lengths. I assumed they would all be full length and need to be cut and staggered. The multiple lengths made staggering and measuring a little more challenging, but we got the job done. The pieces come with 3 long lines of foam adhesive on the back. Just remove the paper and stick to the wall. This project was so simple, our 5 year old helped us! The boards seem to stick well to the wall, no problems with adhesion. Now the challenges: The boards are not all exactly the same width. Minor fluctuations in size caused for gaps and the need for hammering some pieces in place. This is expected with most paneling, but without a channel system like tongue and groove, it's almost impossible to remedy. Next up, the company included round, black stickers to place behind noticeable knot holes. While I appreciate the attempted solution, these did not work well at concealing knot holes. Also, there were enough large knot holes that we used every sticker included, except for one. Additionally, several imperfections occurred on top of the adhesive strips. There's no way to cover up those imperfections--and they are very noticeable. The final challenge is the 20 sq ft included in each box. Be sure to secure several boxes if you expect on doing a full wall. We opted for a half wall and had just enough to complete the project. It won't go as far as you expect, so be aware of that. Remember that any cuts will not be finished, so if you install on a corner, like we did, you'll need trim or stain to clean up the edges. The wood was easy enough to cut with a standard miter saw, but if I'm going to the trouble of getting our my miter saw, why not use a higher quality and truer paneling? Overall, installing the 20 sq ft took us less than an hour (with help from our kids). The final product looks okay for the time and effort we put in, but the quality could be higher with this product. If you're looking for a lightweight paneling solution to look like full ship lap or paneling, and you're scared off by a nail gun, this could be a good option for you. But most DIYers would likely choose a higher quality option.

Nothing at all that I expected. Very thin, which isn’t a bad thing since I was putting it on the ceiling, but the amount of product you receive is not cost effective. Super high in price for very small area. I had it delivered to the store and even the clerk was shocked at what you get for the money.
