Q:How long does it take to dry
by|Sep 1, 2023
1 Answer
Answer This Question

A:  Dry times for Titebond Original Wood Glue will vary depending on relative humidity, temperature and moisture content of the wood. At 70°F, 50% relative humidity and 8% wood moisture content, the glue should set up enough to remove your pieces from the clamps in 30-60 minutes. We recommend waiting 24 hours before sanding or planing to reduce chances of glue line issues.

Q:Do I use the original or the ultimate to glue woodubend (wood decal) to painted wood furniture? Is this easy to paint over with chalk paint?
      by|Apr 29, 2023
      1 Answer
      Answer This Question

A:  Titebond Original or Titebond III can be used to bond WoodUbend to unpainted wood. Test on painted surfaces to determine if holding strength is suitable for your application. Titebond wood glues such as Titebond Original, Titebond II and Titebond III can be painted once fully dry.

Q:Would this work on a chair and hold without someone falling threw and breaking it? I bought a dinning room set and screw went right threw the chair. The store i bought it from can only replace the whole set and it'll take months to do so.

        Answer This Question

A:  It is difficult to determine a fix from this description. Please call the Titebond Technical Support Group at 1-800347-4583 between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm EST. Titebond Original will bond wood to wood and will also bond the metal screw to wood. In some cases, damaged wood will need to be repaired before the screw will have a stable place to bond. Coat Titebond Original around a few toothpicks and stick them in the screw hole, then cut them flush to the surface. This can help to stabilize the wood around the screw hole. wait for an hour then re-assemble the chair making sure not to overtighten the screw. Allow 24 hours before stressing the joint.

          #1 choice for paper sculptor
I have been using Titebond wood glue for over twenty years as the basic bonding agent for my paper sculpture. I use it for a lot of my carpentery projects as well. Great stuff!

Why nail when you can glue?
I really like this product. It provided the strength to bond 5 various sized pieces of 3/4" thick wood to build a 3 x 5 table. It bonds quickly,if using clamps ,and cleans up easily

Okay Home Depot! You saved me a trip to the store. Thanks
Came fresh and unaffected. I can tell it had not been frozen or sitting too long on a shelf.

This is just about the only glue I use for woodworking. The only time I dont is when I have a special need like a shorter or longer open time, or for a specialty application...and then Titebond has a glue for that! The glue strength is actually more than the wood its bonding so in many applications you can eliminate fasteners or at least greatly reduce them. It cleans up easy, goes on easy and spreads without issue. And its sandable. Plus, it does not have any noxious odor. My son is smell sensitive and told me he very much enjoys working with it because it smells good to him. If you need product support, they are extremely responsive both on the phone and on line. Titebond...the only wood glue I use.

We are putting in hard wood floor from scratch with scrap wood that still has many years life left to it. We used this to lay pieces before nailing to make sure that's how we wanted it. Needless to say it holds extremely strong.. couldn't move a board after drying. Turned out amazing and we are using again for another room.

            Couldn't try it out
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I wish I could have tried this product as I love to do art projects; however when it arrived to my house it was busted and oozing in the package. I couldn't salvage any of it. It was either glued shut or or wet in the package

A Little Goes A Long Way
Titebond Original is efficient without waste and the nozzle is contoured perfectly to slide through the grooves in the tongue in grooves construction of woodworking. It was the adhesive used during my project of assembling a maple entry bench. It bonds beautifully without mess.
