All of our docks should be removed for winter. Our sections are 4' x 8' and 4' x 10' only.
I've sealed 14 sections of this Tommy dock with https://www.readyseal.com purchased online through the HD annually for the past three years. I waited a month to apply the stain the first season. I use a roller to apply. It still has a rich cedar red color and repels water from the lake and uv rays from the sun. If not the dock will age to a grey color.
Yes. In fact, all of the timber was cut with precision, including the 2" x 6" frame. And, excellent directions. BTW, it comes with galvanized nails, which I am sure would do the job. I used screws.

With proper construction and instillation, a long time. Use deck screws for construction, they will increase the strength of the dock pieces. Easy to install and maintain.
Yes, if used with properly placed cement risers to keep 4x6 cedar struts. Also, possible to bolt two together. Sealant won’t hurt, but important to keep mold off due lack of sun.
