Q:What are the dimensions of this pole Saul chain?
I cannot find the exact specs anywhere. It seems like Toro is trying to hide exact specs for a replacement 10 inch chain.
I?m not going to sit here and wait for Toro to ship me a replacement chain.

A: Hi Forrest.
Thank you for shopping at The Home Depot.
On the “Specifications” page of the “Operator’s Manual”, Toro states that this chain has 58 links. As long as the chain you purchase is a 3/8 th’s chain and has 58 links and is specified for a 10in. bar, it will work on this chainsaw.
Please let us know if we can be of further assistance.

Great saw, long battery, hard to find chain+bar
I received this saw missing the bar and chain, and after some searching I decided to change out the sprocket to 3/8 LP. Now using an Oregon 100SDEA041 bar, Ryobi 612313001 sprocket, and Oregon S40 chain. Works great! Just took down tons of branches.

This is a really nice pole saw from Toro and a part of their 60V family of lawn care tools. It came with the 60V battery and a plug in charger, as well. I have three other Toro tools that use the same 60V battery, so it is interchangeable among the tools for longer run time.
The saw required some assembly (cutting head) as seen in the photo, the parts are easy to assemble and the instruction set has a good explanation and diagram of the cutting head. The only real drawback to using this right out of the box is the absence of bar and chain oil as a part of the saw. The instructions indicate that the bar and chain oil must be purchased separately. So, if you are reading this and thinking about a purchase, don't leave the store without a bottle of oil.
As for the cutting, it does well on smaller limbs (have not had any big limbs to cut, yet). The instructions indicate that you can make about 80 or so two inch cuts on the battery that comes with the saw. As earlier indicated, the 60V batteries swap between the various Toro tools and you can use a larger capacity battery. They might get a bit on the heavy side. The ones for the lawn mower are pretty heavy. The saw would run quite a while, but it would tire you trying to hold it! Another tip is, the saw pole is two sections that slide together; however, the control cable does not disconnect. It would be better to store the saw fully extended. I have mine on the wall in the garage.
Anyway, I like the tool and look forward to using it for more trimming jobs!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The The Toro 10 in. 60-Volt Lithium Ion Cordless Electric Pole Saw is simply amazing! This is my third Toro 60-Volt cordless tool; the ability to exchange batteries is a real plus. These 60-volt batteries and brushless motors provide power that rivals a gasoline powered engine. And, the batteries last a really long time! I didn’t keep track of the number of cuts that I made while working in my yard this past Saturday, but I was tired and run down long before the 60-Volt battery on the pole saw showed any sign of weakness.
Don’t let the small box deceive you; this saw is strong, powerful and almost 9-feet long when fully assembled. And, it is super easy to assemble – it took less than 10 minutes. It even comes with a tool to tighten the pole and adjust the chain. This saw allows me to cut branches that I was unable to reach from the ground or on a step ladder with a lopper.
The saw can be broken down for storage or it can be hang on the wall, but remember that is almost 9-feet long. I really like the Toro 10 in. 60-Volt Lithium Ion Cordless Electric Pole Saw and highly recommend it for its reach, power, and long battery life.

This item comes mostly built in a really long box. The instructions were easy to read and understand. I got the chain on it, adjusted it, and ready to go in less than 15 minutes. And it took that long because I wanted to read the manual to make sure I didn't put the chain on wrong way. First time dealing with this type of equipment. The pole is super long and we were able to get some dead wood off our tree without having to call a tree guy. The battery slips on and off the charger very easily. The battery is large so it makes the battery end a little heavy when installed, but shouldn't be too bad for most people. I don't have a lot of upper arm strength so for me holding it was tiring but lucky cutting limbs didn't take us very long. The chain bag has the part# on it so when this one goes dull we can just buy a new one. I don't want to mess with sharpening the existing. Just too time consuming. I like that I don't have to deal with gas or oil in a motor like a regular chain saw. There is a cover for the blade for storage. Nice product for small tree trimming projects.

This pole saw works really well cutting limbs. I have a lot of trees that need trimming and I figured it would be more cost effective to just trim them myself. I like that this is pretty light for a pole saw and can be easily maneuvered. It does not come with chain oil so make sure you have some handy when purchasing. It goes together really quickly and the battery seems to last. The only thing was that I wish the extension was more adjustable.

The Toro 10" bar polesaw works like a champ! Just add bar oil and find your limb or branch and chop it off. Push the safety switch and press the trigger and let the weight of the tool do the work, you do not have to push down on the tool. You may need to adjust placement on the branch if it is thicker to keep the chain cutting. The chain is nice and sharp, producing large sawdust chips. The bar oil tank has a built in window, showing the oil level at any given time with out taking fill cap off. There is a d ring on the shaft by lower handle for a shoulder sling (box does not come with one) which may make easier to carry around on larger jobs, but could also reduce movement of the tool when cutting. The tool is heavy enough to feel sturdy and produce great cuts with out pushing on the tool, but still light enough to use for extended periods. The pole saw also has a branch hook to grab and pull cut branches down if they catch on other branches. With this 8' pole saw, you can also cut branches you can't get close to that may be in front of you, like branches inside or protected by rose bushes, or other thorny bushes, not just use for branches above your head. There is a continuous wire inside the pole pieces so the tool can never be extended past how it comes, you can't get extension poles for it and make longer.

For some reason I was expecting to be a little underwhelmed by this saw but I have to say I was very surprised it exceeded my expectations. Assembly is very easy and quick. It does use bar and chain oil which doesn’t come in the box so if you don’t have any you will need to pick some up. The battery charged very fast but is a little on the heavy side. The overall saw is also a little on the heavy side but comfortable to use with the soft padded grips on the handle. Operation is as simple as pulling back the safety button and depressing the lever. I used it to prune a few low hanging branches on a tree that were about two inches in diameter and it sliced through them with ease. If this is a tool you will use infrequently I would highly recommended it. The battery is great because you don’t have to worry about a 2 cycle engine and any gas related issues while the saw delivers adequate power for the average DIYer. If you have a lot of work to do I could see the power of the battery duration being an issue but because I only pruned a handful of branches I didn’t run into this. Overall this pole saw exceed my expectations and I was very impressed with the power and ease of use

The Toro 10 in. 60-Volt Lithium Ion Cordless Electric Pole Saw with charger and battery is a beast of a power tool. Upon unboxing and getting out the assembly instructions, my first thought was “wow that is a thick manual”. However after starting the assembly, I quickly realized only a handful of pages were for the actual assembly. Putting the pole saw together is extremely easy. Just make sure you have enough room before getting started. The battery took roughly 2-3 hours to go from 0% to 100%. The battery itself is massive, but does a good job acting as a counterweight. I had no issues cutting through the brush in my backyard. There are two things that were disappointing about this pole saw kit as a whole. The first is that is DOES NOT come with bar and chain oil. Toro states this on the package but near the bottom where I obviously overlooked. So before even getting started, I had to go back to Home Depot and purchase some bar and chain oil. I would have thought that given the price tag on this kit, Toro would have at least included a small bottle of bar and chain oil to get you started. The other thing is that I unlike some of the competitors, this kit does not include a shoulder strap, which also must be purchased separately. Probably my favorite feature of the pole saw is its ability to fold up and be easily stored. If I were in the market for a pole saw again , I would likely go with another brand such as Ryobi or Milwaukee for the simple fact that replacement parts are easy to find.

This is my first pole saw and I sorely wish I had one when we lived back east on several acres. I can't believe I used to get on a ladder with gas powered chain saw. Love the Toro. Assembly was easy - the pole comes in three sections that sap right together. Installing and tightening the chain is the same as on a regular gas powered saw. It doesn't come with the chain/bar oil in the box (which you absolutely need) to make sure to pick some up when you you buy this tool. This tool is very well balanced and easy to use once you get the feel for it, but it is not a light tool. You definitely have to have some upper body strength if you are going to be using this saw for any length of time. Once you get going though (with a brand new sharp chain) it cut like butter. I love using this saw - wish I had a few more branches to trim up.
