Suggesting user error is the type of response expected from an (enter your favorite cussword here that describes the rear opening of a human being). So happy to here you are not having issues, but wait until you need repair. Numerous calls and emails to Toro and Home Depot result in Toro saying to contact the authorized dealer who says Home Depot needs to stand behind their sale and should issue a refund or credit toward a different mower, to which Home Depot says contact Toro. Toro also says they will stand by their 5 year warranty, of which a year has gone by, but the authorized dealer has other mowers with the same "DEFECTIVE" wheel assembly and there are no parts available STILL. I've owned the mower for over a year, used it for 3 months, no known time frame when I'll be able to use it again, but hey, Toro says they're going to fix it by golly. Don't buy this mower. Stay away from Toro.

Assuming you have fixed this by now, but just in case... I had the same issue, I just jammed it in there and it popped into place. I was nervous as well about cracking the plastic but it worked. Good luck.

You just keep holding onto the handle and it pulls back as you pull the mower back, thereby automatically disengaging the self-propelling feature.

The shipping label on the box says country of origin Mexico. Not sure if that’s just referring to the packaging or if that’s where the mower is assembled

Brand new, won’t start. New gas and oil. What am I doing wrong?

You need to charge the battery for a few hours before first use and you need to pull up and hold the dead-man bar along with the self-propelling handle; if you already did those things, then I don't know what's wrong.

Switched and not going back
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Have previously owed Snapper mowers, my wife wanted a electric start. Plus now we have the personal pace. Super mower won’t go back to a Snapper

Good mower but expensive
I originally bought a 22" recycler but when I got it home and put gas in it the gas came pouring out from the top of the carb. I brought it back and hd upgraded me to this but they gave me the floor model. Got that home put gas in and it wouldn't start. Brought that one back and got this in a box. Came home, gassed up and mowed the lawn. The engine is quiet for a 190cc 8.75 torque and the mower moves very smooth and cuts nice. There are great features from stow and go to the electric start. It looks like the deck is solid enough and I expect this to last a long time. 2 other things- Home Depot went above and beyond in the customer service dept. I would have been happy if they just fixed either mower but they insisted that they wanted me to be taken care of since I had to make 3 trips to get this resolved. Also, this was purchased for my personal use but I am also a certified lawnmower mechanic and I'm use to toro issues. Overall, it is a very good mower but I think at 599.00 it's a bit steep. You can live without the electric start but having the bigger engine does justify the cost.

Toro 21387 recycler
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have mowed several times with this new recycler and i am very pleased with it. Piece of cake to put together. I have heard negative things about the briggs 190 cc but i have put it to tbe test. Mowed low, on a very steep slope, over bumps and not one time did i have a problem. I didn't buy it for the electric start but i am sure glad it has is. I am replacing a older toro and will show pictures if it will let me. Buy this mower you wont regret it for sure.

Toro you should be embarrassed
Stuttering and stalling over bumps. Handle pinches skin at base of your fingers Hard to pull backwards, drive wheels don’t fully release. No suction won’t pick up even the smallest of twigs. Grass clippings build up underneath and fall off in clumps. Glad I kept my old Toro, it works 10 times better than this. Carburetor is 95% plastic, and impossible to adjust float to prevent stalling problem.

Very disappointing new Toro lawnmower!
We purchased this Toro lawnmower in the spring of 2020 as a replacement to our 14-year-old Toro, which had its final run last year unfortunately. Having counted on Toro's brand name reliability for the past 14 years, we thought that we couldn't go wrong with this new model--after all, in fourteen years there must have been new technologies developed, right? Boy were we wrong! This lawnmower is at best comparable to our aging one in terms of the engine power, and overall lawn mowing results. But right from the onset, we noticed that it was hard to handle when making turns and maneuvering, etc. Some reviewers reported the apparent sluggishness of the "self-pace" feature and they were right. With this machine it feels like you have to push it even with the self propelled feature engaged. But to me, the worst part is that the bag gets stuck on a secure tab that was not properly bent from the factory. So once the bag is full and gets too heavy to just pull out, the bag gets stuck and you have to pry it open to dislodge the bag--that's incredible annoying every time we have to maw! (See picture with red circle). Either it was an incredible poor designed "detail" or someone at the factory just got lazy and neglected to fully bend the tab. On the plus side I guess, we're pleased with the electric starter, although it takes quite a few tries before the engine starts! It's the same with the pull cord. Our venerable 14-year-old Toro was still starting with one or two pulls. Also, it does a good job cutting the grass, although a suspect even the cheapest lawn mower will do that. Other nice features include the ability to fold and lean against the garage wall, as well as the ability to wash the inside of the case by attaching a water hose to a built-in outlet on top of the case. Other than that, I wish we would have chosen the Honda that's comparable in price with this Toro (maybe a tad more expensive), but now we're regretting buying this particular Toro lawn mower. Hopefully I'll be able to convince the wife to recycle this one in less than 14 years (a lot less!)...

Super Recycler 21386
I've cut with it 10 times now and I'm really happy with it so far. The personal pace is awesome, I like to enjoy the mow so this let's me walk at a nice pace, but I also have a slope in my yard and it let's me power up that with no problem. The cut is super nice and, like it's name says, it mulches really well even with tall slightly wet grass. I haven't had any stuttering like other people have said and that's with one of my mows going from 8" to 4.25". The SmartStow makes it super easy to maintain the blades and clean under the deck without worrying about what happens when tipping it over. Also, with the cast aluminum body and the wheels, it makes it feel like a tank. Not too heavy, but super stable and well built.

Personal pace and push start features are great
I’ve been using my toro mower for over a month and so far I’m very satisfied with it. It’s well built and has many great features.

top of the line
I wouldve given it 5 stars but having to adjust the “personal pace” took a star off. I made my first cut a week ago, and it felt as if i was doing more pushing then i should. After watching some youtube videos i figured out how to adjust the drive spring to my “personal pace” . Also if you plan on installing a lawn striper you may have to take off the smart stow wheels. Which gives you to ability to store the lawnmower staright up and down. (Smartstow) I took off the wheels for my lawn striper from big leage lawns. Small price to pay to me though. This mower has a excellent cut quality and well worth the extra $100 for the 190cc motor.
