Ah is the Battery Amp Hours. The L108 battery (60-Volt MAX, 2.0 Amp-Hour, 108 Watt-hour) has about an 100 minute charge time. We recommend removing the battery from charger when it is fully charged and store the battery indoors. Storage instructions can be found in the Operator's Manual. Thank you.

Answer

Thank you for your question. You want to be sure you are using the correct string Use only 2 mm (0.080 inch) diameter monofilament string (Toro Part No. 88611) or 2.4 mm (0.095 inch) diameter twisted monofilament string (Toro Part No. 88612). For detailed instructions, view the Replacing the String section of the manual. You can view it online at https://www.toro.com/getpub/174683.

Could I use my Toro lawnmower battery in the Weedwhacker

Asked by Jack April 18, 2021

Answer

Dear Valued Home Depot Customer, We have reached out to the manufacturer and their answer is, All Toro 60v batteries will work across all Toro 60v tools. However, it is not suggested to use the 2.0ah or 2.5ah battery as your single source of power in either the snow blower or the lawn mower due to the power requirement in those types of applications. The 2.0ah or the 2.5ah battery would be best used to supplement a 4.0ah, 6.0ah or 7.5ah battery for additional run time. Thank you.

The 60v Toro is a well balanced and powerful weed eater, the battery lasted approx. 20 - 30 minutes of heavy use. The string that came with the unit seemed to wear down quite quickly but can easily be swapped out with a higher quality string. The cutting swath is adjustable between 13 & 15 inches by simply unscrewing and turning the string cutter around. The guard on the machine is a bit on the small side compared to other machined and does a poor job on protecting the user especially when edging. All in all I do like this machine and if you are thinking about going cordless you cant go wrong with this unit

Toro has a long standing tradition for manufacturing high quality lawn equipment and this one continues the tradition. Strong 60 volt motor will cut the toughest vegetation. lithium Ion battery is rechargeable in about 45 minutes and has a charge indicator on the charger and a 4 light indicator on the battery indicating quantity of charge. Easy to assemble. Handle can be adjusted to balance load and accommodate left/right handed users. Only need a #2 Philips screwdriver and about 15 minutes of time. easily breaks down at center for easy storage.

I was really excited to try out my new Toro cordless string trimmer. So excited in fact that I forgot to charge the battery, but it still allowed me to do 2/3 of my property, so I'm assuming there will be no problem with a fully charged battery cutting a medium sized property. It was easy to put together except for the front guard where it attaches to the handle near the trimmer. Apparently they gave me the wrong size screws or something. They were like one size too big, so I dinged them a star for that. Although they fit in the holes initially, I could only get them tightened about halfway by hand. There was no way they were going in there. So I decided to try my cordless drill/driver. I kept trying to shoot it in and then back it out until eventually I think it finally went in all the way. I think the threads on the screw eventually cut itself a path through the plastic. As far as its performance other than the aforementioned at least adequate battery life, it did a nice job trimming my grass along the house and walk. I had to bump it a few times to feed a longer line. The stone around my house tends to wear out string pretty fast. My old gas powered trimmer was such a pain because you had to manually feed a new 18" string in every time it wore down, which was about 3 times per session, and it used to get jammed in there too so I'd have to take the head apart and get the old string out. Frustrating to say the least. So this is a huge improvement. It's also MUCH quieter than my old gas trimmer. It's more of a hum when it's running and the real noise is the grass being cut. So I'm sure it will be a hit with my next door neighbors. Although the battery is kind of large compared to some other brands, it seems to be well balanced with the string trimmer so you don't get too tired using it. The handle is really nice because it allows you to hold it sideways and use the trimmer to edge your walks. The battery is easy to insert into the unit and a push of a button releases it. It takes 10' of .080 string per reel. The reel pops off when you squeeze the 2 tabs to release it. I haven't tried restringing it yet, but it shouldn't be very hard at all. So all in all I think this will be a great upgrade to my old gas powered trimmer.

I chose this toro weedwacker/trimmer because I already have the toro 60v blower and have been very happy with its performance. Assembly was very easy and straightforward and took less then 5 minutes. The string cutting blade is adjustable for 2 different string lengths. I left it where it came from the factory. I plugged the charger into the wall and connected the 2ah battery to it. I allowed it to charge overnight. This unit did not come with a fast charger, neither did my blower, but I don’t anticipate needing more then a single full charge and the slower a battery charges, the longer that battery’s life will be. Fast charging creates a lot of heat that kills battery’s. I took the fully charged battery off the charger and set off to trim my 1/4 acre lot. The trimmer is very well balanced to hold. The battery is up top and the motor at the bottom. This creates a very balanced unit. I have a lot of fence, both stockade and chain link so I have a lot of trimming to do. This unit was very impressive. It reached full speed in about 1.5 seconds and chopped through some pretty thick weeds and grass. The bump head worked flawlessly and never required multiple bumps to get the string to advance. After about 20-25 minutes of trimming my yard was complete and I still had 2 bars left on the battery pack indicating a half charge. This trimmer meets all my needs and I’m very happy with it. I’m considering the toro 60v mower when my gas unit is due for replacement.

Great little timmer is amazing. Don't let the thin .080 line fool you.it cuts grass like a hot butter knife on butter.it may look harmless but it kicks butt and Don't think of it as a toy.wear your eye protection.i love that the battery has a handle.it also has variable speed and a straight shaft.it is also lightweight. The only small drawbacks are the .080 line won't last long on concrete buts that's OK cause this is a lightweight trimmer.the other small drawback I would like to see being change would be the size of the shield to something a tad bigger to avoid grass ,rocks ,and Twiggs flying back at me cause this trimmer although a lightweight, is fast and has lots of power.

Where is the instructions? The box seem to be unopened and intact when I opened it, however there were no instructions and an Allen wrench packed in a plastic envelope for me to use. To attach the handle and the shroud I used a Phillips screwdriver —and by the way make sure you tighten those down as tight as you can because they will move. So the shroud and the handle was easy enough to assemble with the shaft snapping on with no problem. However, I don’t know what the Allen wrench is for and I’m sure there should be some instructions on changing the spool on this machine. Since the manual wasn’t available in the Home Depot site, I contacted Toro by phone and arrange to have the manual delivered to my house which will take four weeks. 800-237-2654 option 5. As far as performance and balance it’s very very nice. It balance as well and it really has the power to take down 4 to 5 inch grass with no problem. I took the 13 inch trimmer out so that I had a 15 inch complete sweep and it did a fantastic job.

After being bowled over by the performance of my Toro 60 Volt Flex-force lawnmower I decided it was time to try out the Toro 60 Volt Flex-Force trimmer. I can sum up this trimmer in 2 words - powerfully awesome! I have always been leery of cordless electric trimmers. They were cheaply made, had no power & the batteries lasted 15 minutes at best. I would put this trimmer up against anything out there including gas and corded electric. With it's 2 Amp Hour 60 Volt battery this trimmer is a beast. It cut through foot tall grass, weeds & vines, trimmed all my planters, trimmed 270' of fence and it never slowed down. It was able to use the variable speed to slow things down and was able to safely cut around my wife's lilies. But when I need that boost of power, the Toro rev's up and has plenty of torque. Battery life is also very good. Initial charge was about an hour. I used the Toro 60 Volt trimmer non-stop for an hour. When I checked the battery level it was at 25%. Nice to know I can trim my whole property on a single charge. (and that goes for my Toro mower too BTW!) Line advance is super easy with the bump advance. You can reload the spool with bulk line. The trimmer is shipped with the line length set to 13". That can be increased to 15" by just flipping the cutting blade around. Being a 60 volt cordless trimmer I was concerned about the weight and balance. Toro engineered this right. The trimmer is balanced at the handle and the weight is not a going to be a problem. The Toro 60 Volt trimmer comes with the trimmer, a charger and an allen wrench. You will have to unfold the trimmer, connect the two halves and tighten one bolt with the supplied wrench. (2 minute job) I have become a fan of electric/cordless yard tools. I like being able to limit emissions, reduce noise and still keep a nice looking yard. One last important fact: There is virtually no maintenance! No gas, no oil changes, no tune ups. I promise this will one of the best investments you will make!

I am pretty impressed with this trimmer. Normally I prefer gas on all of my outdoor power equipment, just for the sake of power. But I have a short sidewalk and typically only need to edge a small bit of grass. I was skeptical at first that I would be able to use this effectively because it is a straight shaft. My gas unit is curved, which I like for doing edge work. But surprisingly it worked great. The other nice benefit of electric is that if you need to do a quick job you don't smell like gas. The battery has plenty of juice to get all of my needs in the yard taken care of. The product was shipped without an owners manual or installation guide, which wasn't a huge deal, but there is some assembly required.

This is my first cordless outdoor power tool. I am impressed. Assembly was very easy, An Allen wrench and Philips no. 2 screw driver. I charged the battery to a full charge, about an hour to 90 min. There are LED indicator lights indicating the charge status on both the battery and charger. My yard is 1/2 to 3/4 acres. I used this trimmer for my first spring trimming and edging. I got about 3/4 thirds done when I ran out of power and had to recharge. Still pretty impressive, considering i was being very thorough. With the old gas trimmer I would have had to refill the gas tank. Also prefer the 15 in. cutting swath. No gas fumes. Much quieter and much less vibration. The .80 in. line seems quit adequate for the job.
