Any Doubts About Battery-Powered Snow Blowers Will be Blown Across the Road. Ol' Man Winter is no match for the Toro 60v Power Max e26 2-stage snow blower (bare tool, battery not included). Tackle years of tough jobs with confidence thanks to steel construction in the housing, frame, deflector and chute. We combine Toro toughness with 3 battery ports, this is the toughest, meanest, most powerful battery-powered snow blower on the market that rips through even the biggest dumps. With a 26 in. W clearing width and 20 in. intake height, you'll be back to playing in the snow in no time. The innovative Quick Stick control allows you to quickly and easily change steel chute direction and chute deflector with a single, smooth motion. Convenient 1-hand operation levers allow single-handed operation, freeing the other hand to change speeds or the chute control without stopping. Give your arm muscles a break with self-propelled automatic steering for smooth, tight turning without pulling or strain -- no triggers or levers required. Toro's exclusive Anti-Clogging System measures snow intake to reduce clogging and maximize clearing efficiency. Toro uses bolts that are 2x stronger than the competition's shear pins. The blower is also equipped with hardened gears in your auger gearbox - in other words, no shear pins to replace. Ideal for concrete, asphalt and gravel surfaces.

Q:Why does it stop running periodically, then will restart
      by|Jan 2, 2023

      Answer This Question

A:  Hi, there! Thanks so much for your question. There could be a few possible explanations: One is that the battery pack is not fully seated, so ensure that the battery pack is inserted all the way into the housing. The battery pack could be over or under the appropriate temperature range, move the battery pack to a place where it is dry and the temperature is between 5°C (41°F) and 40°C (104°F). The battery pack could have exceeded high amperage limits, release the trigger, then press the trigger switch. There could be moisture on the leads of the battery pack, allow the battery pack to dry or wipe it dry. If the problem persists, please feel free to contact Toro Customer Support at 1-888-384-9939. Hours are Monday – Friday 8:00am-4:30pm CST. Thanks!

          Powerful and Reliable
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Hands down the best investment I’ve made in home equipment living in the hockey state of MinneSNOWta. Just got pummeled with 10” of snow and the plow already created a windrow that was easily >20” at the end of the driveway. I opted for the third battery in case I want to help my neighbors (it’s called MN Nice). My driveway is 2+ cars wide and 4 cars long. After going over it twice with ease, batteries were still at half capacity—more than enough to help my neighbors.

Electric Not Ready for Real Work
7.5 amph Batteries did not last 25 minutes in 24 inches of powdery snow. Even on smaller snow days, it can't clear my two car parking strip and my corner lot sidewalks. It works great, but it just can't get the job done. Loved the convenience of battery power and the reduced noise, but I have to return it cause it just can't finish the job. In the pic, this is all it could do in the 24 inch snow storm. Basically cleared 1.5 cars of parking strip.

                Easy breezy
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Easy breezy ! After shoveling the first big snow storm, I decided to purchase a new two stage snowblower. After my first purchase in the summer of a 60v Toro mower, and I am very happy so far. Well the snow blower works great, a little beast to handle but it’s always ready No oil! No gas! Drop in the batteries and go! By the way the batteries keeps going, my driveway the block sidewalk and still had not use all the charge hopefully it will be around a long time.

                Toro quality, electric convenience.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I replaced a 15+yr old Toro 1128 blower with this unit. I wanted something easier to maintain and cleaner to operate. The downsize was also a consideration as the old one is a beast / difficult to handle sometimes. The 60V Max two stage did not disappoint when we got two late April blizzards. It's maneuverability was very welcome. The ability to throw very wet snow was impressive. For normal amounts of snow this unit is fantastic. For extreme amounts of snow this unit is very capable. I did have one repeated ice-up issue with the impeller in slushy snow which was a little annoying. Probably need a little silicone spray on the housing around the impeller. Batteries feel heavy duty and deliver strong power up to 'empty'. Would be nice to have faster charge speeds and lower cost of replacements. A maintenance mode on the charger would also be good as these are going to be seasonally used, so care will be taken this off season to keep them fresh for next winter. The gas snowblower was the last combustion engine tool to be replaced at my house and I am very satisfied with the replacement. I would recommend this blower to any Toro fan.

Solid for the typical suburban driveway
Used this on two recent snowstorms, first was about four inches and today was about six inches with about double that at the end each time after the plow came through. Both times the machine did great but as some have commented it took far more battery power than I expected. I have a very average driveway that easily holds six cars and with the two batteries, each was about half spent when I was done. I already have a second set of batteries because I have the mower from the same series, so I am not worried in longer snow events, but it is something to consider if you are in a heavier snow area or have a long driveway. I don't think I would want to do a snowy winter with only the two batteries. Recharging today from half back to full took about two hours. Feels rock solid and exactly the same as the gas engine version without the issues of the small engine, which was the appeal for me. Just like the mower it is relatively quiet compared to the traditional gas engine version. The joystick chute control is amazing... any direction and height in seconds... very easy to use and a fantastic feature that gets you back inside faster. Light seems pointless so I would prefer an off switch to save any bits of power. I have never tried the handwarmers because with heavy insulated gloves it also seems pointless to me. They do have a switch so they don't waste any power. Setup directions are awful as some have noted here, and I think it would have been faster if I didn't have them and just tried to figure it out on my own. Only issue was auger control cable was too tight at first but that was very easy to adjust. Neither would have been an issue from a dealer or already assembled but I chose to have it shipped direct. Overall, very happy

                  Need the third battery
Performed well, easily throwing snow 20-30', and handled the plow hump at the end of drive. But unit shut off several times probably b/c the battery temp range exceeded. Only half the drive done before 2+hr recharge. Needs 3rd battery (+$350) for big jobs

Has the power, not the battery life.
This machine is very well built for being an electric. Build quality definitely beats the competition. Controls are easy, joystick is a joy to use. Handwarmers work well even through gloves. But…and here’s where it falters, battery life is a problem.

                      beware the heavy snow!!
The snowblower worked great in powdery snow and the batteries performed well.. BUT once the snow turned sloppy and wet the battery life just wasn't there. 25 minutes seems to be the norm in heavy snow. The snowblower moved the wet snow ok, but didn't last long enough to get the job done. There is a 3 battery slot for a reason and Toro should step up and offer a 3rd battery at a significant discount or even free.

                        Mild Winter
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Able to use a half a dozen times. Has plenty of power. One of the three batteries discharges more quickly than the other 2 7.5 volt. As you know, they are not cheap . Also I had to ship back the first blower I purchased as the chute would not assemble properly. Return was frustrating!
