The Toro 16" 60 Volt Chainsaw is Awesome!
The Toro Flex Force 16 Inch 60 Volt Battery Powered Chainsaw is amazing! Unlike my gas powered chainsaw, this saw starts without a hassle and the battery lasts a super long time. I cut with it for about an hour yesterday and it still had plenty of power to cut a 16" stump at the ground. The saw is light, but plenty powerful enough to cut large branches and even medium size trees. I am amazed at how powerful this thing is and how much I can cut on a single battery charge. The battery life is impressive! And, I don’t have to mess with mixing gas and oil, simply put in bar oil for chain lubrication and I am ready to go! I have a large yard with lots of older trees and shrubs; this saw is perfect for trimming back or cutting down ligustrums, crepe myrtles and other trees that have gotten out of hand. I was concerned because reviews of other battery powered chainsaws complained of the chain falling off; I have not had this problem with the Toro Flex Force 16 Inch saw. This saw like all others, require that the chain be tightened as it wears; but Toro tucks away a tool in the handle to tighten the chain. I would definitely recommend the Toro Flex Force 16 Inch 60 Volt Battery Powered Chainsaw for anyone needing a chain saw to cut small to medium size branches and trees and don’t want to deal with the hassles of a gas powered saw.

This feels and cuts like a regular chain saw. With the battery installed the weight is well balanced and comfortable to handle. The bar is listed as 16" and is designed for cutting trees up to over 2 feet in diameter. The chain oil level is viewable easily at the front of the engine. The reservoir is located on the side and is opened without any tools. The chain tension is adjusted using the tool which is stored on the saw.

I'm always skeptical when a company claims how long a battery will last. With this TORO chain saw I decide to put them to the test. They claim to get up to 50 cuts of wood 6" x 6". This equals 1800 sq. inches. I cut down a dead maple tree in my woods and sliced as many pieces I as could on one battery charge. I cut 24 pieces averaging 10" in diameter. This comes to nearly 1900 sq inches of wood. This chain saw passed the test. The battery charges in about an hour and is easy to lock into the saw. The bar chain oil reservoir is large and I only used about an eighth to it. The battery is a little heavy but is positioned on the saw to provide great balance when handling it. It's comfortable to use with the slight cushioning on the handle and I love that the wrench tool is easily and quickly stored in the handle. Comes with 3 year warranty for product and battery. Its a great tool for the homeowner. If you do much cutting, you may want to get an extra battery.

We've always been fans of Toro products at our house and this cordless battery electric chainsaw is a win! The chainsaw is the perfect size and weight for our needs around the house. Well balanced and has a nice cover sleeve for the blade section. This has enough power to trim the trees and cut things up and we love the cordless battery powered option.

This is a fun tool to use. Yep fun. That’s right. What can I say a quality tool gets my motor running. I’ve been looking at electric chainsaws for a while drooling over some models and thinking of replacing my gas chainsaw. I felt like a kid at Christmas with this new saw. It is such a pleasure to not have to fool with mixing gas and oil when using this saw. Just fill the oil reservoir for bar and chain oil, pop in a battery and you are ready to slice and dice. The power is definitely there with this saw. I did notice you have to give it a second to come to speed when getting ready to make a cut but that did not slow me down. I decided to dive right in and the first thing I tried it on was stump my bother had cut and left about 3 ft high. (he was being helpful) I wanted to cut it off level. It was a sweetgum stump about 20 inches in diameter at the bottom. I went around it cutting wedges which I found easier than making just a couple flat cuts all the way through. That sweet gum had a mix of light and dark wood with the dark being very hard and a lot light walnut. But this saw handled it well. I did deplete one battery by the completion of this pretty grueling job. By the time I finished even after cutting out wedges all the way around I had a stump that was still 16 inches across even after cutting off the flare at the bottom (see pictures). I was impressed the saw handled this job so well. I never had any trouble with it binding or anything and this was no lightweight task. And one of the great things about an electric saw is being able to turn it any angle without worry of gas leaking out. The only drawback I can see is that the batteries are pretty expensive (and a little on the large side) and since this was my first foray into Toro tools I did not have a stash of batteries. But I went out right away and found a kit that included at 2.5 Ahr battery with a charger and a weed eater for only $30 more than the cost of a spare battery. Choosing between that and just buying another battery was a no brainer. And after trying that tool out I am pretty sold on the Toro quality. But that’s is another review yet to write. Lets just way I am seeing some consistency in in this 60V lineup so far and I like it. I will say of you will be doing a lot of cutting I think you’ll want a second battery. That's why I got another right away. I will say by the time the one battery was drained so was I. I needed a break. There are some nice little touches with this saw. The batteries are nice since they have a pushbutton display you can punch to check the charge level. And the inclusion of the tool in the handle is nice since you don’t have to go looking for tools to tighten up the blade when it loosens as all chains do. And I like the design of the oil tank. It is easy to fill and easy to see the level through the window at a glance. I love it. I don’t see myself going back to my gas saw. I have mounted the charger in my battery operated charging station and they are a coveted part of my lineup now. I’m ready to cut.

This is a battery powered tool that really works! The 16-inch bar and the 60-volt lithium-ion battery give it the power and flexibility of a traditional two-cycle gas engine saw. This model comes complete with a 2.5 Ah battery and charger. All that needs to be added is some regular bar & chain oil. I used it to cut down a small pecan tree that died this spring. The saw easy to use because it is cordless and does not need any mixed two-cycle gasoline. There is no starter cord to pull or choke/carburetor to adjust, and it stops completely when the trigger is released. The amount of noise and vibration is less than a two-cycle gas engine saw and there are no exhaust fumes. After making 18 cuts on pieces ranging from three inches to 11-inches in diameter and chopping up the smaller branches, the built-in battery gauge showed 50 percent remaining. This saw should be satisfactory for most homeowners who need to cut firewood and prune or remove small trees. I am very satisfied with the quality and performance of this tool.

Like a hot knife through butter, this saw has the power to do the job. I borrowed an electric chain saw but hauling electrical cords across the yard was a real pain. This 60-volt battery powered model not only loses the cord but has more power than the electric saw I have been using. We had an EF1 tornado go through last week and we have been cleaning a lot of blow down. This saw has mastered everything I have been able to throw at it. The weight of the saw is comfortable to use but heavy enough to give better control with the occasional kickback. (Yes, I had a couple.) Toro’s claim is that one battery charge will cut 50 6x6s. I can say that I have been able to use it clearing for several hours on a single charge although the stuff I have been cutting is most 2-4” in diameter. The battery is held securely yet pops out easily with the push of a button. The included blade cover protects the chain yet comes off easily. For those less familiar with chain saw usage, the instruction manual is a quite detailed primer with illustrations describing not only the safety features of the saw, but also the best way to properly use it for falling, limbing and bucking. I would give this saw 6 starts if I could.

This is a very good Toro flex force 60 volt battery electric chain saw. I have a gas power chain saw that I use but after using this one I have to say this would be my go to chain saw. I cut a 14 inch long into and it has never bog down one bit. It went thru the log just like the gas power would. This chain saw has the power of a gas power has. There is some difference in them to me they are good benefit. The chain saw is not has loud nor heavy has a gas power one. I cut the 14 log thru three times and the battery still showed full charge plus I had cut some other branches before that. I really like the chain saw it really is well design and thought out. It is well balance. The chain is very sharp and it cuts very good and it even comes with a bar and chain cover to help to protect it. When you add the bar oil you are able to monitor it on how much is left. You want go wrong in getting this chain saw it is well built and very durable.
