is this mower any good for commercial use? like is it able to handle a total of about 30 lawns all season?

if not, do you have any that are good for commercial use?

No, this mower would be good for residential use only. It would not hold up to commercial use.

does the engine keep operating when the handle is released? Looking for mower that engine keeps operating when handle is released also and also a throttle control to speed up the engine if needed.
Asked by: richard
Welcome to 2017. You're gonna need to pull on that rope thingy one more time if you need to leave the mower unattended. The engine is already running at full speed. No need to speed it up. It's already there dude.

Honda GCV160 22 in. Personal Pace Recycler Variable Speed Gas Walk Behind Self Propelled Lawn Mower is rated 3.9 out of 5 by 64.

First day of use: gas leaking from motor (couldn't find cause of leak), chute attachment on frame (not bagging attachment) continuously disconnected from closing door while mowing, and clogged up chute numerous times causing engine shutoff. First mow of year and grass wasn't tall but in a few places and slightly wet from morning dew. Wasn't impressed with mower and got grief while returning it at Home Depot due to a small amount of fuel remaining in the tank. Employee tried turning me out the door several times to cyphen the gas out and then bring it back.. Needless to say they finally took it back after the guy did the "put off eye roll"... I'll still shop at Home Depot but just really disappointed and disgruntled.

We've only owned the mower one week and we only cut the yard (.5 acres) once. Well, the left rear wheel fell off less than 15 yards from our starting point, then fell off once more later in the cut. We tightened it and I hope that took care of the problem. I know it's a known issue for this model. Overall, it's a good mower. The pros are the reliable Honda engine, the effective self-propel feature, and the unit is relatively light weight. The cons are, of course, the wheels, but also the bagger is a bit small and it's a bit difficult to determine when it's full. But overall we're happy, although I would like to see how reliable the mower is over a complete season.

This is my third Toro personal pace mower, I love the Honda engine it starts very easily and seems to have more power than the B & S engine on my previous mowers. this mower is also a little lighter. I bought the Toro w/ the Honda engine rather than a Honda mower because the features such as the bagger, personal pace and hose clean out were more to my liking. I would buy this mower again.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Overall Pleased but Problem with Starting I have had Toro lawnmowers in the past and they have been reliable and sturdy. I just purchased this new Toro mower in October; as with past Toro mowers, I like it overall but have had a great difficulty starting it each time thus far. I would appreciate any recommendations on easier starting. I understand the mower has an automatic choke -- and do not have to do anything with the choke before starting. Thank you.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Mower arrived with rear height adjusters damaged due to packaging,... Mower arrived with rear height adjusters damaged due to packaging, not shipment. Then, after 10 minutes of use, one rear wheel quite turning. I shut the mower off and pushed it to my driveway where that wheel fell off. Mower returned to Home Depot.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Disappointed Honda powered Toros are not stocked at my local Home Depot store, so I ordered on HomeDepot.com & had it delivered to the nearest Home Depot store. No apparent damage to shipping box, so I paid & took it home. Unpacked the box & began simple setup. It was then that I discovered 2 issues. First, there was a mysterious frame part in the bottom of the box. Puzzled by this, I learned the back end of the unit, (including drive wheel assemblies) would need to be disassembled in order to install this frame part. Huh??? That was obvious Toro factory assembly issue, not a reflection on Home Depot. Second issue was 2 of the spring steel wheel adjustment ears were twisted out of shape. This problem was created by the interior packaging material. Since these adjusters are made of spring steel, they couldn't be restored to their original position. Leaving them as they were would create a safety issue, as the locking mechanisms were rendered useless. The only fix this would require new replacement parts. Another issue created at the Toro factory... not to do with Home Depot. Combine these problems & the mower was deemed received in unacceptable condition. The only good thing about the entire experience was the return process. I repackaged the mower & took it back to Home Depot. No questions asked, other than how I wanted my cedit. That same day, I went to the local Toro dealer & purchased the exact same mower, without assembly or damage issues, for the exact same price. Problem solved. Great mower!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Mower I've had this mower for just over a year now after my twenty-year-old Lawn Boy finally needed replacing. It's always started on the first or second pull and has never hesitated cutting the grass. I've always left the clippings on the lawn using either the side-discharge or the mulching option so I can't comment on the usefulness of the bagging option, but it has operated well beyond my satisfaction. In fact, I was so happy with it that I bought a second one this past spring for the cottage where that one has performed equally as well on terrain that is tougher than a residential lawn. This is definitely a mower that I would recommend to someone.
