Q:What happens to the metal auger when it hits a solid object or concrete edge? My driveway has some raised slabs that eventually I need to replace. I have rubber augers now and when they hit the concreted edge I haven't had any problems with them.

    Answer This Question

A:  you will be o.k. it will not bend or break, however you might damage the scraper blade at the bottom of the snow blower.

    by|Jan 9, 2023

A:  Hi, there! Thanks so much for your question. Since this unit is a single-stage blower, the scraper makes direct contact with the ground to pick up the snow, leaving you with a clear driveway or sidewalk. You might be interested in a similar two-stage unit, #39924, where the auger doesn’t make direct contact with the ground, making it ideal for both pavement and gravel surfaces. You can view unit 39924 online at: https://www.homedepot.com/p/Toro-60-Volt-Power-Max-E-24-in-2-Stage-Cordless-Electric-Snow-Blower-Headlight-w-Two-6-0-Ah-Batteries-Charger-Included-39924/316817667. Thanks!

A:  The auger will keep going and probably suffer some damage. I have compressed rocks at the end of my concrete drive. I have occasionally picked some of them up and the auger shows dents and dings although it still works fine. Hitting concrete would certainly be more damaging.

Q:How long will the battery last while blowing snow

          Answer This Question

A:  Hi, there! Thanks so much for your question. Runtime will vary based on conditions and which battery you choose (either 6 or 7.5Ah). That said, a 7.5Ah battery has about 45 minutes of runtime, and a 6.0Ah battery has about 35 minutes. If you have both batteries, you can switch out the batteries, for a total of 70 minutes of run time. Hope this helps, thanks!

          by|Jan 3, 2023

A:  I have a 20' x 40' driveway, plus nearly 300' of sidewalk. With a "normal" snowfall, 5" or so, I can easily do the whole thing on a single charge. With a very heavy or deeper snow I will almost get the whole thing. Will have to use my spare battery for the last few minutes. My only gripe is that it's not self propelled, but still a whole lot easier than shoveling!

            by|Jan 23, 2023

A:  It depends on how deep and wet the snow is and how big your driveway is. Our driveway can fit four cars. It took me about an hour to clear foot-deep wet snow (Noreaster style) on one charge. But the battery was done

              by|Dec 31, 2022

A:  It all depends how much and how heavy the snow is but the longest it has lasted was 2 hours for me.

                by|Dec 28, 2022

A:  Depends on how deep the snow is. I would say with a full charge it would last about 45 to 60 minutes. Really deep wet heavy snow makes it work harder and runs the battery down faster. I have not used it for more that about 6 to 9 inches of snow and have a 50 foot driveway 3 car width and usually have about 25 to 50 percent battery left after doing whole thing plus small sidewalk. Another tip is the battery lasts longer and seems to put out more power if you charge it inside. Start out with room temp battery if possible When I leave it in my cold garage the power is noticeably less.

                      It definitely works!
2 feet of snow in central NH, the next storm that was coming the next day was to be wet and heavy. Found this one, charged it up, 2 hrs, and the wet heavy stuff was coming down. The following morning, tackled the front deck 10 x 24 back deck 12 x 24, Throws the snow but the wet, heavy stuff made it work. Wasn't effortless you do have to push it. but it did the job and on one charge! If you're giving it a one star review because it won't throw snow you must be pushing it from the wrong end!

                        Poor product and customer support
After removing product from the box the instructions told me to fold handle out and to screw large thumbscrews through handle into threaded inserts in frame. The holes were about 1/4-3/8" off. No way the thumbscrew was going in. As I was looking over the rest of snowblower it had various fasteners that were poorly assembled. Tried to contact Toro support by email and they told me I needed to take it to an authorized service center. No, I boxed it up and returned it to store. Scratched Toro off the list of furture purchases. Paid a premium price for a name brand for assured quality. That wasn't the case.

Never need a gas snowblower again!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this two days ago as my 17-year-old Toro CCR 2450 gas snowblower was becoming unreliable. I got it just in time for record November snowfall in Western Michigan. We got over 18” of snow in just a few days. It was simple to assemble; the battery is easy to charge; it starts instantly. As opposed to my gas unit, that pulled itself forward by the rubber paddles, this one has metal augers and you have to push it forward like a lawnmower, but it’s easy to do. It cuts right down to my pavement driveway, even better than my old unit. It is lighter in weight, and even has headlights! I did my 2-car driveway that also has a side parking pad and had plenty of power on the high setting. Only used 1/2 of the charge. Best part—I don’t smell like exhaust when I’m coming back inside!!

                          Great snowblower
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this snowblower at the end of last year. So far I have used it 3 times and I’m very surprised at how well it works. Today I was able to clear mine and the neighbors driveway and in front of the mailboxes on one battery after at least 9” of snow. I would definitely recommend this model to anyone. It is light weight and very easy to use.
Broke the first time I used it in 3" of snow
I have a 3 car wide, paved driveway. The scraper split in half on the first little snag in a pavement crack. Second try, the auger started rubbing against the housing ever so lightly, but what a racket it's making now! I'm trying to get this fixed now..

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We understand you have encountered some difficulties with auger and scraper blade. We recommend not pushing down on your machine while operating, rather push forward. Pushing down hard on your machine can cause it to get hung up on cracks, causing damage. We suggest contacting an Authorized Service Dealer if you are having issues with the auger rubbing against the housing. You can view our extensive list of dealers at Toro.com/locater. A dealer can inspect and repair you machine to have you back to keeping your driveway clean and clear. Your machine has a 2 year warranty that protects against all manufacturing defects, you can view your warranty at Toro.com/parts.

                              Great Snow Blower
First time used was on 1/17/2022 received 7 inches of snow. The performance of this blower exceeded expectations. Driveway is 90 feet long and 35 feet of sidewalks. The battery that came with the blower almost completed the job. The replacement battery purchased, was much less in amperage and wattage. Just wish we would have been informed by the retailer of the extreme difference. The purchased battery did not last very long. This would be my only advise to anyone purchasing a replacement battery, check the battery being sold. After checking on Toro's site, found several other battery options.

                                Works Well
I'm in love with this snowblower. It start with a simple push of a button and it's so quiet compared to my old jet engine snowblower. It's handled a surprising heavy amount of snow fall no problem without clogging once. I highly recommend it!

                                  So far so good....
3-4 inches and I was able to clear my driveway as well as the sidewalk on the charge of one battery. Impressed with the power and quiet. Will see how durable it is over time. Batteries are expensive; no gasoline is a plus. Get spare battery for sure.

Works well but feels low quality
Two months after my purchase we received our first snow. It was only 2 inches, but it gave me a chance to test out the snow blower. The snow blower worked quite well at handling 2 inches of light powdery snow and I was impressed with its ability to leave clean pavement underneath. However, about halfway through, the middle part of the scraper bar chipped off which meant that the rest of the time I was leaving a small trail of unblown snow behind. The fact that this chipped off so easily combined with the general feel of the machine leaves an impression on me that this is not made of quality materials and won't last the 30 years that my old two-stage Toro snowblower lasted. I hope I'm wrong and that this scraper bar is an easy fix, covered my a warranty hopefully, and I can continue to use this machine for the next decade or two.

My driveway was clear in 30 minutes!
A wet and heavy 2-3” fell here in Minneapolis the day after I purchased the snowblower. Plows left dense clunkers over knee high at the end of our long driveway. It cleaned the drive -including clunkers- down to the pavement. Easy to assemble too!
