It gets incredibly loud when the exhaust valve sticks open and the blower becomes a lawn ornament because Toro inexplicably does not make the head or valve-train components available to purchase as replacement parts.

To answer MZMN question, yes this snow blower is strong enough to break and clean the hardened snow from the road plow truck's wall, BUT it is not big or tall enough to do it in one shot. It takes a few back and forths to get through the wall. It has stalled on me a couple of times, but once you learn its limits, you can get the job done, with some care. The fact that I only needed to use it 6x this winter, it stores neatly (not bulky) and for the price, its a good machine. If your looking for more heavy duty, you may want a bigger one. But if all you need is limited use and something that beats shoveling, this is it. I've had this for 2 years now and no issues.

I had to return the first power clear 518 ze snowblower as it leaked oil and gasoline after initially starting it up after assembling. I took pictures of the oil/gas that leaked upon the initial start up. I assembled the second power clear 518 ze the exact same way that I assembled the first one I bought. Started it up and let it run like the first one and checked for leaks. There were none, thankfully. I do not want to give this a positive review yet, as I would like to see if any issues arise after using this snowblower a few times.

I could not be more pleased with my new Toro snowblower. It is well built and designed. I opted for the manual start model and it's true, it starts on the first or second pull every time. The 99cc engine doesn't even work up a sweat through the heaviest snow and pulls its weight like much larger units. It's my third Toro unit over the years and the quality of this unit speaks for its self. It's compact size is a real advantage for easy storage in my garage. Thanks

Toro Does Stand Tall
Customer review from toro.com logo
I have not used it in snow due to buying the snowblower in early spring and no snow is available. The guaranteed to start by the second pull is awesome and works every time. Maintenance on the 4-cyl engine is very easy and like using synthetic oil too. My first Toro Snowblower lasted me well over 12 years. Hopefully this one will last longer and believe it will too. Having the two year warranty is a plus and doubt will need it too.

Feb. 2019 snow in northern Wisconsin broke all records. Over three feet. Sure I wish I had a bigger one. This one fit the bill for my budget and storage space and did a very good job at opening paths and clearing a small driveway. Just had it a few weeks now and it's moved a lot of snow. The long throw helps a lot too.

I have used this commercially but it is a bit heavy to pick up and put in a truck. The wheels should be a little bit larger in diameter and the key should come with a leash so you do not loose it. However, it starts really easy and throws snow a long way and over a four foot wall with ease. It will handle about 7" of snow on the first pass. We use eight other small snowblowers and three large ones at work and this is easier to use than any of them.

The blower was easy to assemble. The instructions are not that complete and leaves too much room for guess work. The operation of the thrower is not impressive. The price of the unit was on the lower end of the blowers that were available and you get what you pay for. The engine seems to run a little rough idling and struggles when loaded. I've had other snow blowers and this is not my favorite but, all in all, it gets the job done for around the house

The snowblower starts easily with one pull. It handled 9" of snow with no problems or clogging. It's also easy for me to handle with arthritis, and not heavy, or cumbersome. I now don't depend on my neighbors to clear my driveway, and can do it when I want!
