Questions & Answers

Can pull start be used without being plugged into power outlet?

Can pull start be used without being plugged into power outlet?
Asked by: Mobius
Yes, I bought the 721E but been using the pull start rope to see how easy it is to start. Push the primer button three times, set the choke, and pull rope. 95% of the time I only have to pull the rope once to get it started, push choke back in. Haven't had to use the electric start yet. Starts better than my lawnmower(4 to 6 pulls).

Does this snow blower have a separate engine oil filter?

Asked by: IanW
No oil filter. If you want, change the oil(20 ounces) once a year. It all depends upon how much you use it during the winter. If you only use it 3 or 4 times a year, then change it every two years. I use Mobil 1 synthetic 5w-30 in mine.

It is 4-cycle (Gas and oil are NOT mixed)

Home Depot just passed me on to a Toro dealer for warranty work. Warranty doesn't cover delivery. It cost me $50 to have it picked up and delivered. Not happy. No snow yet to try it out.

My blower came damaged if it wasn't for HOME DEPOT I would of returned it they had to call Toro to get the parts needed to repair, it took all of 10 min to replace parts and Toro wanted me to take it to one of there service centers, I had it delivered because am not able to lift that kind of weight. As for the blower I waited to fill out this review we had a foot of snow yesterday and as advertised it took care of a good 10" of loose snow with no problem anything more had to be broken down and loosed up, it did the job I just hope I don't need Toro customer service again because I lost confidence in them as for Home Depot they were great....

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The 721 is easy to use and does a terrific job I have been a Toro fan for many years. I have had a functional model 421 for about 40 years. I have also had 2 lawn mowers, the latest still functioning. This snow thrower is terrific. My can handle it much more easily than the 421. I didn't rate its dependability because I haven't had it very long but based on my previous experience I'm certain it will be very reliable. Functionally it does an excellent job cleaning the snow down to the concrete which the 421 didn't do very well. All in all I think is a great machine and believe it will provide many years of dependable service. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

This single stage is tough and surprisingly capable of the heavy lifting usually associated with powerful multi-stage machines. It's maiden voyage with me was over a foot of snow in New England (image included) and this baby cut through it with no problem. The greatest feature is perhaps its weight. It is not heavy and my wife loves to use it to clean up where she feels I fell short lol. I would recommend this machine to anyone looking for a versatile machine that can still handle heavy lifting when needed. The staff at Home Depot was also very helpful in explaining its different features. A must have!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent! Had this for a few weeks now and have used it about 6 times so far. It has worked great. I like the extra power this has to handle blowing through the piled up snow at the end of the driveway from the street plow going through. Also, I was concerned about the smallish gas tank, but I was able to do about 4-5 blowings before having to refill the tank, so it seems similar to my last snowblower, which is better than I was expecting. I got the 721E model, but not sure if it was worth it for the electric start. I only used the electric start once; and the others times were pretty easy with the pull cord. Overall, great unit! Rated 4 out of 5 by from Best Single Stage Snow Blower This is my fourth single stage snow blower and second Toro, I gave my last Toro to my in-laws and it is still in excellent shape. Only negative with the new one is one of the wires on kill switch was not crimped into the spade connector on the switch. Took the blower out of the box, installed the chute, added oil and gas, primed, turned the switch on and it started right up. Turned off the switch and it just kept running, so I had to choke the engine to shut it off. Pulled the chute and cover and found one lead of the switch not connected, so it was never tested before it was shipped snow blowers are hard to beat. They are dependabl [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Above Average Snowblower This snowblower was purchased to clear my 30 feet long drive way of snow. I have used it three times and it has handled up to 8 inches of snow with ease. The paddle-driven self-propel works great and clears the snow to the pavement. My only complaint is that since this is a single-stage blower, it does not blow as far as I would like. It averages about 6 feet and I was hoping for close to double that distance. I would highly recommend this machine to anyone with a short to moderately long driveway and snow up to 10 inches deep. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
