Does it have an on-board battery or do you have to use an extension cord to use the electric starter?

Asked by: Anonymous
No on-board battery to worry about. Just use an extension cord and plug it into regular household current!

what is the differance between the 826 OE and the 826 OTE Toro snowblowers?

Asked by: coro
Double check my info, if I recall correctly, it is one or more of the following: bigger fatter tires, headlight and/or more CC's {horsepower} the 826 OTE is rated at 11.5 horsepower. Get the highest horsepower you can afford. I have to throw heavy/slushy snow at times and am grateful for the extra power.

Customer Reviews

Power Max 826 OTE 26 in. Two-Stage Electric Start Gas Snow Blower is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 136.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from A real snow eater! We bought this to replace an old snowblower that was no longer able to throw snow. Of course this happened after 2 back to back storms, leaving us with 5.5 ft high, 4 ft wide piles at the end of the 2 drives we clean up. This new Toro started 1st pull and handled the aformentioned piles, which were by then, 2 days old. We were thrilled with the ease of which it handled the mess and how far it was able to throw the snow. Veryimpressive!! Made cleaning up almost enjoyable. Having only had to use it the one time, i am unable to acurately rate it on dependability, as this takes multiple uses in my mind. Also quality would necessitate more than the one use. But don't get me wrong, this is one tough, impressive machine that i highly recommend!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Light and powerful So far I'm very happy with this machine. The joystick control is good but it takes a bit of getting used to, that's a problem with the operator, not the machine. Much lighter than my previous blower and this makes it MUCH easier to maneuver. I like the two reverse speeds but don't use them a lot as the unit is easy to pull back for short distances. This unit also throws the snow much further than my last.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from You get better than you think. I was amazed at how easily it throws wet snow and slush. Never plugged up once. Headlight is bright at night and there is plenty of power. Knobby tires give great traction. The big gas tank keeps you going for hours. One pull is all you ever need to start it, even in 0 degree weather. Electric start backup is nice, too. For what you pay and what you get, it's an excellent bargain.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent Snow Thrower Third winter for my Toro. Excellent Snow Thrower. Very easy to use compared to other brands I have used. Only feature I would like changed is the traction and auger cables. They need to be stronger. Had to replace auger cable after two years. A heavier cable would be great. The connection of the cable to the cylindrical part in the handle is far too slight

Rated 5 out of 5 by from winter wonderland used it for the first time yesterday after rain settled on the snow and made it heavier but my Toro went through it with ease. Bigger challenge coming tomorrow as a storm which is much bigger is coming tonight, should be fun with the snowblower, expecting atleast 30-45cm.If it worked as good as it did yesterdayi should have no problem whatsoever.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Everything you will need Purchased this blower in early January, living just East of Winnipeg so you know we have lots of snow, we also live on a retention pond, so I clean and flood our back area which is 80 Ft. x 200 Ft. And I have used the blower several times and I absolutely like it very much, I would recommend this blower in a heartbeat.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good solid snow blower This is my first snow blower. I find it easy to start and easy to change direction of the chute (though the top gets stuck up sometimes). My only issue is it only has 1 drive wheel so if that wheel doesn't catch it is kinda heavy to maneuver. It throws the snow far! It is a beast in deep heavy snow.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from excellent Value I have owned 3 different blowers over the last 25 years and this is the best I've ever had for ease of use. The unit is all one piece(not bolted together) which makes it easier to use. I also found the machine to be very well balanced which again helps to cut through the snow.
