Questions & Answers

Does it come with a Power Chord?

Asked by: JuLiE B!
It does not come with a cord. Make sure you use a heavy duty cord because it draws a lot of current.

Would it be practical clearing snow between and around parked cars?

Asked by: Boo
It shoots straight forward so as long as you could push it along with a clear line of site to throw the snow it would work. Probably a bit awkward but could do the bulk and then cleanup with a shovel.

Power Shovel 12 in. 7.5 Amp Electric Snow Blower is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 861.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from It Saved my Back! I bought this snowblower about two weeks ago with the intent of using it on my sidewalk if we had a storm. Then we had the blizzard that slammed the NorthEast last weekend. It worked like a charm here in the DC Metro area. I was SMILING the whole time! I had about 19 inches in my community. I was expecting a delivery of new applicances that day, so I had to keep the sidewalk cleared for safety. I cleaned it twice of about 5 to 6 inches each time. Each time took an average of 15 to 20 minutes. I also cleared my neighbors sidewalk, when we collectively dug out cars and sidewalks. Amazingly AFTER I finished, the teenagers with shovels came around. I definately got my money's worth and then some from this machine. This really is a small unit for a small driveway, or just sidewalks like I have. It was perfect for me, at the $99 price. No maintenenance and it has a two year warranty. Just open the box, read the instructions, (for safety) plug it in and go.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Better than a bulky expensive snowblower I was gifted my powershovel about 4 years ago from a Tennant at my apartment complex (I was the maintenance manager). It worked like a charm removing snow from the walkways and patio areas. I moved from the complex after it sold and I kept the powershovel as I was going to be living in a home with a driveway. I was able to clear my own driveway and my two closest neighbors (I used a 50' cord) within the same time it would have taken me to hand shovel my own driveway alone. Major time saver. Unfortunately, my powershovel needs to be repaired, but I luckily have a Toro Repair shop nearby and I plan to have it fixed if the labor is not too expensive. Heck, with the manual and parts catalog I may even attempt to repair it myself as this makes the chore of clearing snow a walk in the yard.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Don't underestimate this shovel. I will admit, I was hesitant to give this one a shot, but it was the only thing in stock before the 2016 blizzard. First things first, you need this to understand this is a power shovel, not a slow blower. I think some reviews take away because it's missing some features you would expect on a larger, more expensive blower. This thing went right through 6" snow as claimed, throwing it quite a good distance. Even after it started tuning to slush, it still threw it enough to manage. I was even able to tame the lovely mountain VDOT leaves at the end of the driveway when you're done shoveling. You can still start at the top of deeper snow and work your way down, just make sure it hasn't turned to ice inside. The only real drawback is the wind blowing the dust back in your face is pretty cold, you can however, just turn in the other direction. Did pretty good for my driveway going side to side as not to re shovel the same snow.

For one it's very hard to handle. I had bought it so my wife could use it on the walk, and steps while I did everything else with a snowthrower. NOT! With a 13 pound motor at the end of a 32" long handle the weight feels like twice that. The "D" handle is near useless since your free hand is trying to keep the power cord plugged in all the time. The pronges are designed for a 2 pronged polarized plug, there's barely enough room to plug a cord with a ground wire. It does fit but as I said, barely, plus it falls out at the slightest tug. Had they given it a few more inches at least you could give it a half of a square knot, but no! Wire must be a priemium item at Toro these days. There's really no way to direct the snow. On a windy day it just blows all over the pace, of course most of it will find you. It doesn't get all the way down to the bottom, especialy on rough surfaces, leaving snow that need to be scraped off with a shovel anyway. Save your money. Pick up one of those bent handled "back saver" shovels. they're light and mor effecient by far. Now that I've been using for 35+ years, and still have the only one I ever bought.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Could be better! It's not all that bad but it needs a few changes. The handle is adjustable according to height but when trying to tighten it keeps slipping out of place. Especially when you are running into some rugged snow patches and you have to bounce it around a little. Also, the snow only blows in the same direction your using it. When in a more enclosed area such as the backyard, it just blows the snow right in front of me giving me even more to clear as I go along. There's no wheels on it so I fear that dragging it on the ground could be wearing away the bottom portion. It's only made of plastic so in due time it's got to scrape the unit to the point where it will even crack. It does blow the snow well though and it is light. Like others have said, using an electric blower has it's advantages but the only disadvantage is how the cord can get tangled or even caught on objects while using. I have only used it once on a recent, large, snowfall in Chicago so I'll just have to see how it feels the second time around.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Hands down 99$ I spent 8 yrs ago now and it still is kicking snow like a little beast. Being a Contractor working on several bank owned properties up to 50 of them a winter I seem to be either dealing with occasional to sometimes constant daily snow falls this thing has been a light weight reliable God send. Seeing 1 star ratings is mind boggling to me...... Everyone on my sites, from electricians, flooring subs, painters even the smaller female stagers and decorators have purchased them after watching how much time and stress it saves me and how much clearer the properties states one after they see it in action and asks how much and says where can I find one. Being I also have access to a small generator it's an absolute ice fishing must clear the ice and bank your shack in minutes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This is the best thing since Sliced Bread I'm 51 year old female and my job after the storm is wielding the shovel :(. For years, the snow of the upper deck didn't get removed from the wrap around deck until spring when it finally melted but last year the amount of ice that accummulated in front of the downstair slider door became really treacherous from the slow melting and freezing of snow from above. This year I hounded my husband for a mini snow blower and he found this for me. It slides easily and handles 3-4 inches of snow easily enough. The last snow storm was 15 inches total but I went out on the deck 3 times and It didn't take long at all, and surprisenly enough if throws the snow a good distance. My husband was impressed as well.
