Thank you for your question. Use only a polarized plug, UL-listed (CSA certified in Canada) extension cord recommended for outdoor use. If your extension cord is 100 ft. you should use a minimum wire gauge (A.W.G.) of 16. If you your extension cord is 150 ft. you should use a minimum wire gauge of 14.

The blades are plastic. I'd be more concerned about filing down the blades from repeated use than about plastic blades scuffing the concrete.

It is a bit noisy............it all depends how far away you are. Altho it's only a fraction as loud as a full size snow blower.

Can you use it on Trex decking

Yes. That is one of the primary areas that I keep clean with this Power Shovel.

I was happy to get the chance to use the Toro Power Shovel during the first snowfall of the year. I purchased this product to make clearing the deck easier. It worked perfectly as described. The snow was easily thrown outside of the deck. The bottom of the shovel did not scratch our brand new deck. It doesn't work so well for clearing the stairs, it's a big cumbersome for what is easy enough to do with a regular shovel. For the rest of the deck, I highly recommend this product.

I bought this for my wife to use on our long brick walk while I used the snow blower on our driveway. We finally had enough of a snowfall to use this product, and since I'm on a business trip, she sent me a photo of the driveway, cleared with little 12" paths. Not our normal way to clear snow, but the tool does its job.

I will admit, I was hesitant to give this one a shot, but it was the only thing in stock before the 2016 blizzard. First things first, you need this to understand this is a power shovel, not a slow blower. I think some reviews take away because it's missing some features you would expect on a larger, more expensive blower. This thing went right through 6" snow as claimed, throwing it quite a good distance. Even after it started tuning to slush, it still threw it enough to manage. I was even able to tame the lovely mountain VDOT leaves at the end of the driveway when you're done shoveling. You can still start at the top of deeper snow and work your way down, just make sure it hasn't turned to ice inside. The only real drawback is the wind blowing the dust back in your face is pretty cold, you can however, just turn in the other direction. Did pretty good for my driveway going side to side as not to re shovel the same snow.

Got this shovel just before the blizzard of 2016. We had 28 inches here in Brooklyn NY and the shovel met the challenge with ease. Two neighbors took it for a 'test drive' during the storm and went to buy one! It's made for up to 6" of snow but handled a few inches more than that without lifting the thing. And when I did lift it to blow away the top few inches of snow, it was light and not an issue. I even blew the snow over my car, parked in the driveway, from front to rear to get my car out. The one issue I had was the screw that holds the adjustable handle in place, vibrated out. I contacted Touro customer service and they quickly sent me a replacement free of charge, as a courtesy. Excellent customer service! I will fix that problem with a piece of tape over the screw. This is well worth the price.

Made for a lady !
Customer review from Toro.com logo
The Toro electric snow shovel is just right for a petite, single lady over 65 like myself ! It sat 2 years in my gargage during Kansas' 2 dryest winters on record and then.. 2013 brought us 12" the 21st of Feb. and 5-6" the 25th. The 12" snow was too deep for Toro product to make a dent so used regular shovel but finished my drive in no time on 5-6" snow. All my neighbors just sat inside and watched me "go to town" with my Toro. Very easy to handle and did not ice or clog up at all ! Very happy with the purchase.

Great tool for smaller jobs, but can tackle big ones
Customer review from toro.com logo
We had over a foot of snow yesterday. I didn't think the small blower could handle that much snow. It actually did clear some of the deep snow. But the job was too big to do a lot. I cleared some of my driveway and my sidewalk, but with the cold and the deep snow I decided to do the job in stages. While I was inside warming up, my neighbor who owns a much bigger, gasoline, self propelled snow blower came over and finished my driveway. This morning their was at least another inch of snow which the small Toro could handle with ease.

We have only had the opportunity to use it once this year. The shovel was able to clear the snow (4 inch deep) easily off our new deck (32' x 16') in half the time it would have taken if shoveled manually. Next time we will try the shovel on the driveway. Tip: spray the blades with silicone spray and the snow won't stick and collect on the blades. The shovel is lightweight and adjustable and very easy to use right out of the box. Very good buy.
