Q:How do you clean out the vortex area? My mower is completely packed with leaves and grass clippings after first few mows.

A:  Hi there! Thanks for your question. To clean under the machine, lower the machine to its lowest cutting-height setting, move the machine onto a paved level surface, with the engine running and the blade engaged, spray a stream of water in front of the right rear wheel. Note: The water will splash into the path of the blade, cleaning out the clippings.         A:  Is the trap door open to let the clippings to enter the bag?  Or is the opening clogged with grass clippings?  When I set mine to bag clippings, I do not have a problem, it works very well.

          A:  Hi, there! Thanks for your question. First, ensure the bag has been installed correctly. To install the grass bag, lift up the rear deflector, insert the rod ends of the grass bag into the notches in the handle brackets, and allow the rear deflector to rest on the bag. You can view more illustrated instructions on page 17 of the manual at: https://images.thdstatic.com/catalog/pdfImages/d0/d096c03d-5f04-4176-8c0f-9b17300560fd.pdf. If the grass bag is installed correctly, one possible cause is the machine is overloaded. We would recommend trying to cut the grass at a higher height of cut.             A:  Hi, there! Thanks for your question. Do not mix oil with gas. Non-Ethanol fuel is best. Use only clean, fresh, unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 87 or higher. Use fresh fuel less than 30 days old. To reduce starting problems, add fuel stabilizer to the fuel all season, mixing it with gasoline less than 30 days old.                     Cuts great but beware of wheel falling off
                    [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I gave this 3 stars because it cuts the yard just fine, probably better than my Honda that I replaced, but my rear left wheel fell off the first time I used the mower. I put it back on though I have to tighten before I start and 2-3 times while mowing. I can’t take it anywhere to be fixed because it’s middle of May in the Midwest so prime mowing season. Spending over 400 on a mower from a name brand I would not expect to be having this issue, especially during the very first mow. I’m questioning my decision and questioning how durable it’s going to be.

                      wheel fell off after 1 use
                      Back wheel fell off afterone use on a small yard. I ignored the bad reviews here because every mower has them. Keep your box in tact because the only way to return this is to the store within the thirty day window. Laughable. Oh i could pay home depot to come send a pro to fix it. More money for a bad product. Great. Anyways going to see if a friend can come figure out how to put the wheel back on

                        Where has this mower been all my life!!

                          Left black spots in my yard
                          Just bought this toro self propelled didn’t even mow much of the yard before I noticed it was leaving black spots in the grass. I had to stop using it because it wouldn’t stop leaving marks in the yard. I have know clue what it is. I guess I have to return it.

                            Works good except for one thing
                            [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I like the mower, the self propel system is pretty nice, makes it easy when going up hills. I do have one complaint that is very frustrating. I've used the mower twice now in the fall to mulch up grass and leaves but discovered an annoying problem. The mower for some reason gets leaves and debris jammed up on the right front wheel, see attached photo. I don't know if it's the wheels having the ribs on the inside holding leaves and getting jammed up. Anyways I'm going to contact Toro support to see what can be done. When I registered the mower they offered a side discharge attachment but I haven't use side discharge probably since the 80's so I didn't get it. Maybe I'll have to look at getting the side discharge attachment and see what kind of other wheel designs there is to help reduce the leaves getting all jammed up, I go about 20 feet and it's all jammed again, very annoying.
