      A:  IF this is a problem, Toro sells a shield for the muffler to prevent this problem. Personally, I just back up the mower so the muffler (bottom rear of engine) is over a mulched bed or sidewalk - so as not to burn the grass. Hope this helps ! -BRUCE ?

            [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Choosing to buy the Toro time cutter is one of the best purchases I made to date. I have acres of land that needs to be mowed often in both the front and back of my house. With the time cutter I've been able to make short work out of a large task. I even use it for other tasks around the property like pulling brush and yard waste down to end of the orchard to be burnt. absolutely love it!

              Durable long lasting mowers
              My first toro zero turn I had for 10 yrs and gave it to my brother-in-law because I wanted a bigger deck! I’ve had this one for 6 yrs w/o any problems: I’m fixing to buy another one with that easy riding system and again a bigger deck: I would recommend to anyone to buy a toro mower because they last a long time and makes a pretty cut to your yard every time
