I wondered the same thing but as long as you leave the required space around it, there is no overheating problem at all. I think 3" is what the manufacturer recommends. mine is directly below cabinets and there is no issue.

No, it is not recommended to install this microwave in a cabinet.

Does this model have LED lighting?

If you're referring to the interior oven light, yes this model (EC042A5C) uses an LED bulb. It is not user replaceable, so if or when it goes out (ours lasted three weeks before it started flickering badly), it requires warranty service and the entire unit must be shipped to Toshiba. Planned obsolescence run amok.

Yes, I got this oven in Jan 2020 and it came with two "grill racks", one low and one high. They can only be used in the convection oven mode and should be placed on the rotating glass tray (see the instruction manual). Use of these racks in the microwave or microwave + convection modes will damage the oven, so one needs to be careful!

Yes they do, but here is my story. I bought one and it died in 15 days. It took a full month to get a refund check.

The product is not as shown on the website. After searching Home Depot for 'Toshiba 1.5 Cu.Ft. Black Stainless Convection Microwave' I was presented with this link. I ordered it, and received a silver stainless (not) product. It started showing stains and fingerprints right away, unlike the product I ordered (see picture above). I used it two or three times for convection cooking. The first try it heated up fairly fast, comparable to my old Amana convection microwave. Then it went to cycling off the fan behind the control panel. On/off, on/off. Maybe it is supposed to work this way? Customer service cannot tell me. They did promise to correct the picture. I have had it less than 30 days and feel I must return it, which will be an ordeal on account of its weight.

Not as deep as I'd hoped. A baking dish we had fit into our prior microwave of the same listed cu ft doesn't work in this one. Besides that and some confusion about the operation of the unit (we weren't sure why the noise when on convection....our last one didn't do that) I would say it's a good purchase.

Whatever you pay for this convection microwave is too much.
This Toshiba convection microwave is the worst one I have ever owned. Bought from Home Depot in April 2019. Not the most user friendly. The light started flickering on New Year's Day 2021, both during convection and microwave cooking. Called Toshiba. Said out of warranty. They have NO service centers. Told me light isn't serviceable by consumer. I should find someone to fix it. I asked what would they do if it was still under warranty. Send me my money. I have owned several Sharp carousels and a Kenmore con.mic. Sharps are very expensive, have a 5 year warranty on magnetron tube, and that tube lasts about a week after warranty expiration. Kenmore great, about half the cost of the Sharp, but when the microwave died, couldn't get another as Sears was in financial trouble. Several sites rate this Toshiba #1 but, if you check out online retailers' customer ratings, you will find many, many people have the light flickering and other problems, unfortunately happening much sooner than my problem. IT'S PRETTY SAD IF THIS PIECE OF UNSUPPORTED JUNK IS CONSIDERED THE BEST ON THE MARKET.
