The worst AC unit ever
The air blow out is not cool at all. compressor keeps running and stopping. Has a noise when setting fan to low. Very loud. just installed it today.

Bought this one when I saw in stock...
My Office is unbelievably hot when i have to close the door with my two small kids and the sitter in the house. I only wish they would account for the fact most houses these days do NOT have vertical sliding windows ... so those of us who have this issue have to simply exercise our inner craftmanship and make a piece to fill the gap ourselves... not a big deal but it is certainly a bit of work if you don't want it to look horrible...Quiet enough...
No Drain hole drilled one .... Cool room!

Broke within 3 days
Set temperature to the lowest temperature possible and it broke the interface. The buttons didn’t work and all the lights on the ac stayed on. It was stuck.

Very nicely made unit
I'm impressed with the design and build quality. Everything is top-notch, including the manual, especially given the low price.
We installed this in a 12 x 15 bedroom (which it cools perfectly), but it together with a 'portable' 7000 DOE-BTU unit was purchased to get us through a rough patch when our whole-house AC blower motor went out. Obviously it can't replace the 48,000 BTU HVAC system, but it made our life much better and we're still using it.

I absolutely love this AC. It has saved our lives...
I absolutely love this AC. It has saved our lives in the sense that our main AC unit is broken and it can't be repaired but I new AC unit needs to be installed. That cost a lot of money we currently don't have, so we purchased this unit and it cools our room enough that we need to use blankets at night. We also have a ceiling fan that we like to use but regardless, as soon as I turn it on, it blows cold air and in just a few minutes, the room is cold. I couldn't be happier. It was also easy to install and my husband didn't even use screws to avoid perforating our window frames, but instead, he used a tape around it and a piece of wood to support in the back of the unit on the outside to support it.
Great Unit Toshiba for this price.

Gets the job done! I had to hire someone to install the unit. It is little loud when sleeping but I got used to the noise.

Initially impressed - mounted in casement!
First, I'll say up front that I have only had this unit for less than a day, so I can't speak to longevity or livability. I bought it hoping that at a very slim 16" wide it would fit in my 1940's steel casement windows. Long story short, YES, you can mount this in a casement or slider if you are a capable DIYer. I needed to remove one window off its hinges, fabricate a crossbar out of 3/4" angle iron, then cut a piece of Lexan to fill the gap.

Wore out at one year mark!
Purchased at Home Depot a Toshiba 6000 BTU Room A/C unit. REPLACED for the following reasons occurring after one year use: 1) Massive Mold in the air ducts! 2) Blower motor bearings heating and putting into room oil-based fumes!
