Product Overview

About 2019 New DOE Dehumidifier: Under the revised 2019 DOE standards, dehumidifiers were tested in a room condition of 65°F and a relative humidity level of 60%. (While the dehumidifiers were tested in a room condition of 80°F and 60% Relative humidity based on 2012 DOE standards). TOSOT NEW 50 PINT unit could still remove 70 pints of water if you put it in an 80°F room with 60% humidity, but it is more realistic to say that it can remove 50 pints of water if you have a 65°F room at 60% humidity. NEW DOE 50 Pint would perform the same with previous 70 pint in either environment. About TOSOT: Our goal at TOSOT is to be the home appliance brand you can trust. From the moment you discover us to the first time you open the box, all of our efforts are dedicated to becoming the brand you can count on. As we grow and evolve, our mission will always be the same-- to improve the quality of your home by offering thoughtful, carefully designed products. The way to a quality life starts with a quality home.
  • 4,500 sq. ft. our dehumidifier can remove up to 50 pints of water every 24 hours (same as 70 pt. units under 2012 DOE standard) a lower humidity level allows your AC system to work more efficiently because it's easier to change the temperature of dry air compared to moist, super-humid air
  • Auto drain: this dehumidifier will stop running if the water bucket fills up; save time with automatic drainage by hooking up a 3/4 in. dehumidifier drain hose (not included) to your dehumidifier, if you don't want continuous drainage you can use the removable water bucket (2 Gal. capacity) to manually empty the dehumidifier and restart moisture removal
  • Real-time monitoring: after choosing a target humidity level the control panel will display the current humidity level, the dehumidifier will power off after reaching the target you set, if you want the dehumidifier to run nonstop regardless of the current humidity level, press the minus button until the control panel displays "NS”, the dehumidifier will run until the drain bucket is full, which will never happen if you have the continuous drain set up
  • Silent operation: this dehumidifier is so quiet you might even forget it's there, a peak sound level of 51 dB (using high speed) will be almost as quiet as a private suburban street or a normal conversation at home
  • Saves you money: since it is Energy-Star rated, this dehumidifier will quickly remove moisture from the air without running up your utility bill, Energy Star appliances are not just better for the environment, they also cost 30% less to operate compared to non-Energy Star appliances

It's very basic. Looks to be constructed of a type of woven nylon filament, but nowhere in the manual do I see that it filters allergens. That said, if you clean it when the filter light comes on, that should help mitigate any mold spores and the like.

I had a pipe break and flood the basement in May, I pumped the water out and ran commercial floor fans for two months but could not get rid of the dampness. I unpacked this gem of a dehumidifier, (no assembly required) and plugged it in, then I read the manual. I discovered I could attach a hose to drain directly to the sump pump and bypass the water collection bucket. Within minutes the hose was dripping water! There is a humidity monitoring read out that measures the degree of humidity in the room, overnight it dropped from 70 to 50. The dampness disappeared. Another feature is an automatic defrost, ice dose not build up on the coils. I can now be comfortable finishing the basement.

Wow I ran this for 24 hrs like they said and had to empty it already. I like that you can set the amount of humidity you want to pull from the air. I set it a little higher to pull the moisture out of the air and was surprise at the amount of moisture it pulled. I knew that my house needed a dehumidifier but this really surprise me how much I did. I like that you can use the container or attach a hose for it to drain. It also has an automatic shut off which is great. Unit is a nice size, not to big or to small, moves around on wheels which is helpful.

I had the smaller size and liked it (doesn’t continue beeping when full, which is great if it fills while I’m sleeping, turns back on if a power outage, doesn’t beep when I’m emptying) anyway, so glad I also got this big one. All the reasons I liked the other, but this one REALLY moves some air and pulls so much moisture!! If you are debating, go for the big one. I love it!!
