Questions & Answers

Will this cover large holes in a rigid PVC liner?

I have a rigid PVC pond liner, with 2 holes in it (previous owner had the filter inlet and outlet running through the wall of the liner). Both holes are approximately 1" in diameter. Will this cover them adequately? Should I put the liner on both sides of the liner?

The self sticking patch doesn't seem to stick. What am I doing wrong?

I cleaned the area and put the self sticking patch down. it doesn't seem to want to stick. What did I do wrong? I didn't receive any instructions in the kit only the patch. Do I need glue or heat? How long should I wait until I add water? It is just a very small puncture hole but I made the patch larger 3x3 inches. Should I have put it on the front of the liner or the back? I thought both might be better since it is a small hole. Help.

I researched Firestone's patch kit and they include a primer. I will return the HD kit and order the Firestone kit. HD doesn't include it in their catalog.

You could just lightly rub the patch material and the adhesive would come off. Don’t know if it sat on the shelves too long and went bad. Don’t waste your time and money, pay attention to the negative reviews that state the same issue.

After I applied the patch, I gave it 12 hours to dry. But 2 hours after I filled the pond, the patch separated from the pond surface and water leaked out.
