Grill temperature probe is 45 degrees off, I verified with 2 other methods. It took a 4lb pork shoulder 7 hours to get to 160 degrees (65 degree outside temp). Customer service solution was to register the grill and they would send me a new probe. Its been used once, its going back to the store. Also the meat probe is 10 degrees off, this could be my fault because I did not calibrate it. 2. lid does not have a good seal, had to put high temp gasket around the lid, shouldn't have to do this for a $800 grill. 3. If your using your phone and you download a recipe and your grill looses the wi-fi connection, your grill completely looses where you were at in the cook cycle. Again, for $800 when the recipe is downloaded to the grill it should stay on the grill regardless of wi-fi. 4. The phone app constantly looses connection with the status of the grille, this happens on wi-fi and cell data. Other than that I would of gave it 5 stars. I love the concept and it could be a great grill, but....

I'm a longtime, very satisfied Traeger user and thought it was time for an upgrade. Just bought the Pro 575 - wifi is great as well as the direct drive auger. The temperature is way off however - near perfect at temps less than 100F, but increasingly starts to read high and is off by nearly 100 deg at the maximum setting of 450 (the actual temp in the grill is about 360). I've now learned from several Google searches and an owner forum that this is evidently the case with 50% of all the current 575's sold. I contacted Traeger support and after about 40' on hold I was told my thermocouple needs to be recalibrated. The agent emailed me a pdf that just described how to reverse the leads on the thermocouple connection. I've since emailed back and have yet to receive a response in 4 days. What happened to the excellent Traeger support that used to be the norm?

Brand new pro 575, cooked several times (pizza, burger, steak, ribs) and all took too long. Was trying to get used to it before spending time with longer cook. None turned out well so I bought an oven thermometer and sure enough the grill was saying it was 50-75 degrees hotter than the actual temp. I'm in Hawaii so the outside temp isn't the problem. The meat probe is also reading that as well. Wish I would have noticed that earlier but didn't need a probe on those cooks until checking the steak. Called customer service and was told I'll be getting a call back and I'm not the first to have the issue. Doesn't sound very promising at this point. May have to exchange it for another that doesn't have the issue or just return it.

I, like many others I've read about, are having one of two main issues, sometimes both. Let me say first, I like this smoker, but I expected more the the 8 bills I gave for it. And today I just put in an email to Traeger to have them to help resolve this issue. If I could have I would have bought a Yoder but they start at $1500. 1.) The temperature does not work accurately. I've had it tell me it was 350° when it was really 315°. and the meat probe is off by about 12° low, which is a lot because properly cooked chicken needs to be 165° and if it was 153° you could get sick. But I have additional temp probes (iGrill) and I ALWAYS temp my meet with a GOOD hand held temp probe. The first two times I used the grill I did not use an additional ambient temp probe so it took waaayyyy longer to get the meat to temp then it should have. (Beer can chicken and burgers) Once cooked they both were stupid good. So yummy. 2.) Your home WIFI router needs to be VERY close to connect. I think because it's doesn't have an external antenna. But once I added an additional wifi router near the unit it has been fine. I LOVE how I can change the temp via my iPhone when it needs it. Also your router needs to have 2.4GHz for the Traeger to connect. Tonight we are trying a brisket and it smells delightful. I've just wrapped it at 150° to help it through the temperature stall, which is normal. With the extra temp probes, I'm able to set the temp so I get a real temp of 225°. (It's set at 260°) But in my humble opinion, $800 means I shouldn't have to over correct for temperature and I shouldn't have to have a second wireless router (wifi) real close to the smoker.

I spent 800 dollars for a grill. It doesn't work. The person treated me like I was an idiot, and he then said I was not mechanically inclined when I thought it was ridiculous that I would have to replace a part on my brand new grill. He said he could do me a favor and have someone come out and install it. A favor??? I bought an 800 grill, and it doesn't work the first day! I need to replace the part. I don't listen. Oh my god! The worst customer service I've ever had in my life. I am returning this grill tomorrow, and I will speak negatively about this company every chance I get.

After several cooks that took way too long got a separate ambient temp sensor and verified that the displayed temp of the grill was 30% higher than the actual temp in the barrel. Max temp achievable is 360 degrees. Measured at multiple locations within the grill. Called Traeger customer service several times and was given a line about an average temp. Returned unit and exchanged for another 575. Same problem. Actual temp 30% lower than displayed temp. Called Traeger customer service and was sent a replacement controller. Replacement controller did not resolve problem. Waiting for replacement temp sensor but back ordered to end of July. Traeger customer service denies that there is an issue, but reviews on home depot, complaints with BBB, problems documented on Traeger Owners facebook page and Traeger owners forum indicate otherwise. If you are considering a 575, think twice and do your online researched. A large number appear to have this problem and Traeger will not acknowledge.

I bought it for the Wifire system that lets you control the temperature from your phone. Overall, the Wifire systems is ok at best. Sometimes it connects; sometimes it doesn't. Traeger may be able to fix that in the app. The bigger problem is temperature control. The grill doesn't reach the advertised temperatures. It also reports the wrong internal temperature. The front display tells me the grill is at 235, but a 3rd party probe tells me its at 190. When my grill says 450, my probe says its at 380. Those are pretty significant variations that can negatively impact a cook. The whole purpose of buying a Traeger 575 is to be able to control the temperature. I've been on the phone numerous times with Traeger and completed all of steps they told me to with no improvement. Find another smoker.
