A: Yes they will
A: You don't
A: It sounds like you are trying to add smoke to your charcoal or gas grill. For that I would recommend wood chunks or wood chips, not pellets. You can soak wood chips or chunks if you want, but not neccesary to get smoke.
A: you don't soak them
A: These are not made to be soaked in water. They are strictly for pellet grills, and are to be used as is right out of the package. If you soak these in water, they will be rendered useless.
A: You can't soak pellets. They will take on water quickly and turn into sludge. This product is meant for a pellet smoker which is used as dry pellets directly. No soaking.
A: I've gotten some nice smoke rings with it. It depends on what your smoking, but I've made pizza, country ribs, baby back ribs, pulled chicken, steaks, and BBQ chicken with this blend and enjoy it.
A: The smoker burns 1 to 3 pounds of pellets per hour. Traeger says that means each 20 pound bag provides between 6 to 20 hours of cook time
