Questions & Answers

Can this be glued down to a concrete floor?

Can this be glued down to a concrete floor?
Asked by: JacksonF
Yes, I did. First glue (liquid nails will do) metal z bar to concrete. My carpet is curved so the z bar was cut into smaller pieces to match. Then again glue wood tack strips on top off z bar pieces. To lower the carpet height I shaved the nap from the carpet that tucks under the z bar. Takes a while but a curved carpet to laminate floor look sharp. Can this be used for a gentle radius transition from living room to dining room?

Need something that will flex for a transition over a gentle radius from engineered laminate flooring to carpet or vise/versa
Asked by: hydovit
yes, I did. You'll have to cut it into pieces to match the curvature that you desire. nailing is no problem on a wood floor but on concrete, it'll have to be glued if the concrete is old (like 6 + years) concrete never dries, it's a catalyst that goes on forever.
