      Not What We Expected
I had installed laminate flooring several years ago in the front part of our house and was very pleased with the results. It went down very easily, had tight square joints, and is very attractive. We purchased this new flooring last October and were taking our time due to inclement weather and subflooring issues that we had to resolve. The first flooring purchased several years ago was thicker and not as super-compressed. That gave it just a bit of play in order to fit the joints together with no problem. This new flooring has exactly the same joint locking design but is in no way as easy to install. You are supposed to be able to lift it a bit and slide the joints together with little effort, but I had to get very inventive and spend a lot of wasted time to make this work. Every joint lock had to be scraped a bit with a sharp knife in order to remove enough material for the joints to connect both vertically and horizontally. The process required taking well over twice as long to complete. I am getting the job done but with 2 to 3 times as much labor involved. I use a piece of flooring as a tool to tap the laminate together with a rubber mallet, a process I have found is best to minimize any damage to the joints. I discovered yet another problem: For some inexplicable reason, many of the laminate sheets are not square. Once I set one in place, one end of the end joint may have a few thousandths gap on the left or right side of the same joint while the rest of the end joint is tight. There are no other cracks in the joints that would explain this. I also discovered that a laminate sheet may fit very well all the way around while having a few thousandths gap in the middle of the long-side joint while the rest of the joint is secure and is so everywhere else on the floor. I have been able to compensate somewhat by forcing the joint a bit, but there is always the possibility of compressing it so much that you can get a raised edge on the top. Tomorrow, I will spend the day scraping all of the joints so that I can install more of the flooring two days from now without having to waste trying to get the joints to fit when it is not possible. without correcting the problem.

        Much more than I expected
For the price, this is beautiful. It took a few months for our installers to come and do the job but it was worth waiting for. We took out old carpeting and replaced it with #traficmaster laminate floors with good padding, it was perfect. Will definitely consider more for the upstairs. Beautiful floors on a budget.

            Very Poor Durability
I am not a professional, but I have installed 500 feet of nailed solid oak flooring and 500 feet of glued parquet flooring. I also installed 200 feet of a different brand of laminate flooring in my high traffic condition 10 years ago and it shows very little wear. This Traffic Master laminate Flooring is only in it's third year and the laminate is cracking and peeling off at joints.. Showing what looks like cardboard underneath it. The floor was installed in an upper room, normal temperature, using the recommended overlay, the base boards had more than enough clearance for expansion, and the boards were laid out for three days before installing. I am just biding my time as I watch more of the laminate peel, before I decide to rip it all out and start again with another brand. The monetary loss is not quite as aggravating as the labor involved. The cost was reasonable but I guess you get what you pay for.

Looks great, but the tongue and groove could be a bit stronger. Out of 14 cases I probably had a full case of planks I had to modify or that were unusable. Once together it seems pretty rugged though I used it for a family room. Fits great on a perfectly flat floor. If your floor floats at all, I would recommend a higher grade product. Cuts real easy with a jigsaw.

Decision to buy this was solely based on price. Very surprised at that quality of this floor. Goes together very easily. Took only a few hours to complete a 10 x10 room. Remember this is not for wet areas and you need to be mindful not to mop it with a saturated mop. For a dry area can’t beat the price and the quality you get
