Questions & Answers

How would you describe the color. Online it looks a little yellow but i wasnt sure if it was the monitor or if it is more yellow or cream?

Asked by: KellyDIY
Cream, medium brown, tad of white and gray. Although nice-looking, this tile is not substantial. The mil wear layer is a 4 and a decent tile should be 20! So not for high traffic areas at all.

One of your "live chat" staff said this product doesn't need glue of any kind but the customers suggest otherwise. What are the facts?

Asked by: Rachel
do you need to buy glue for this product

Can I install this over my current hardwood floor?

Asked by: Paula
Yes, it can be installed over any flat clean surface. It does not stick or fasten to the existing floor so in the future it could be removed to expose the original floor.

Laying it in a bathroom, can I place it under the toilet, or must it be trimmed around the outside of the toilet.

It won't look very nice trimmed around the outside of the toilet base. If I can just trim around the flange plate with plenty of clearance, it seems it'll be nicer looking.... unless that screws up the expansion issue. Bathroom floor is only 6' x 6'
Asked by: jack
i place all my vinyl floor under toilet...just cut access for the hole...then put new toilet on top...seal around the base....good luck

Sedona 12 in. x 36 in. Luxury Vinyl Tile Flooring (24 sq. ft. / case) is rated 4.1 out of 5 by 1555.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Overall Very Nice Resilient Vinyl Plank Purchased TrafficMaster Allure Cordoba in January 2010. I ordered 7 boxes based on measurements suggested on website but came up one box short even after factoring the 10% extra. We ordered the product on a Sunday and it was delivered promptly the following Thursday. When boxes arrived, 4 out of 7 had broken pieces, but was able to make it work. As for installing, pretty much went as expected, although I would recommend a very sharp blade and/or very sharp heavy-duty scissors. I had a lot of door jambs, corners and curves in my kitchen - took about 1 1/2 day to complete. The smell went away after 2 days and, overall, we are very happy with the result. Seems to be resistant to the dog's nails, sandy boots, water sloshes, etc. I also picked up a tube of kitchen/bath silicone caulking, color-matched to accents of the vinyl, to help with some of the seams that didn't quite square off. I would consider using this type of product again for the bathrooms in our house.

Hard to cut around corners though without special tools. The package says "no glue required". The instructions inside say "not required" but CAN be used. I have a friend that installs floors who installed it for me. He said you definitely NEED the glue, otherwise the floor will start to come up in a year. However, I would NEVER buy anything again from Home Depot that I can't take off the shelf. They had the flooring in one store, had to go to another to get the matching door strip. That took them a hour to find at Customer Service. After I waited in line for 45 minutes for my turn to wait for them to find it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Has the look of ceramic tile So far, this product is really nice. I did not install it but had my contractor do it. He had never installed this particular product before but said it was very easy to install. It is in my kitchen and (three season) sunroom. It is water-proof so it is great in the kitchen where there are lots of spills. My main concern in the sunroom is that there was a possibility of buckling from the heat since there it is not airconditioned. THERE WAS ABSOLUTELY NO BUCKLING! I had a major 4th of July gathering which of course was a lot of congregating in the kitchen and the floor came through with shining colors! Everyone loved the high-end look. For those that said their floor buckled on the edges, you must have secured the perimeter of the floor. Do not do this. It is a floating floor and has to have some give. Follow instructions and you should have no problems. Also, go on youtube. There are how-tos. All in all, I am really pleased with this purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from ALLURE FLOORING We installed the Allure flooring in 2 of our bathrooms, 2 years ago, and at the time wished they had more patterns. We were in the store a few weeks ago, and found you now carry the Allure flooring in many different patterns, and types. We are now in the process of putting some in a dining room, kitchen, and hallway. The Allure is very easy to clean, I had no problems installing myself, as it is very easy to lay. The cutting around corners is somewhat tricky, but can be done if you pay attention to detail. We love this flooring. It has shown no wear what so ever, and would highly recommend to anyone. We had shown it to my wife's sister, and they purchased and layed in 2 bathrooms as well. Like us they love it, and are thinking about putting into the kitchen soon. My mother in law saw the Allure we had installed, and they themselves bought Allure flooring for the kitchen, and dining room. They used the country pine, and it looks great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Value in Flooring We spent weeks looking at every kind of product out there. I negotiated relentlessly with flooring distributers and installers to get a good price. In the end, I went with this product because: 1) I was able to install 260 square feet in 3 hours. 2) It is a tough, resilent product. 3) It looks incredible. 4) It was the least expensive option out of everything I looked at. Be sure to get rent a 100 pound roller to go over the entire floor afterwards. This will really increase the integrity of the relationship of adjoining planks. Spend the time to get your floor as clean and flat as possible prior to installation. Discrepancies in your floor level will show through. You can buy a can of Floor Patch which you simply spread on with a drywall knife and it dries in 4 hours like cement. Small can of that is $12. Our friend walked into the house just after we installed it and said, "Whoah, you went with tile huh?" We said, "Look again, that's vinyl." We are very pleased.

We wanted something other than wood look for a back enclosed porch and are very happy with the installed appearance. When not having to fit broken edges together the installation was very easy and simple. Finished yesterday and only took 4 hours for a 16x18 room. However at least 30% of the tiles had the edges broken. Most of the time the breakage was the lower portion and by squaring up the broken edges with metal shears and replacing with pieces from cut off ends, we were able to finish the floor barely. Out of 11 boxes we have over a full box with broken off corners and edges of the top surface. This style was not available at our local stores, so we ordered on line and they were shipped to us. Can not say if that was the issue or not. We also had the thicker rigid planks shipped for another room and they were fine. So only get this style at the store and check as soon as you get them home. Only one box showed shipping damage and it only had one unusable piece.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great option for kitchens or bath. This is much higher quality than most vinyl tile. With our old vinyl, I made some gouges in our kitchen floor moving the fridge around. With the allure installed, our fridge glides over it without issue. We installed this color in one of our bathrooms and we also have the same stuff but color "Sedona" in our kitchen. It has held up perfectly for over a year and looks great. The adhesive strips create a very strong bond, just be careful not to get any dust or dirt on them while installing. When you're finished you will probably have some tiny visible gaps between some of your pieces. Just buy some light grey silicone caulk, run a light bead of it over the cracks, then wipe away with a cloth. It will make the seams nearly invisible. If you're buying allure flooring in the store and the box has any kind of damage, open the box and check it out before buying, we found a few boxes with broken pieces inside.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Using Corsica Vinyl tile flooring in our small bathroom. I really love the look of this tile now that I have installed it. If I had to do it all over again, I would have put down some kind of underlayment since I installed it over 1 x 1 inch tiles and cushioning between them and the tile would have been better. Don't be fooled by those that have posted how-to videos on YouTube for installation of these tiles. True enough, it's a breeze to install, but not a breeze to line each of them perfectly. If you don't butt them up enough to your liking, you can surely separate them, but it seems like they have their own memory, and wind up with the original little gap. So that it wouldn't drive me insane looking at those miniscule black lines, I did wind up buying some paintable caulk, to which I added some colored acrylic paint to and painstakingly filled the gaps, it actually turned out pretty good. Overall, it's a very beautiful floor, but if you want a floor with no seems at all, then I suggest that you buy a piece of vinyl and install that. I might add that it is very easy to clean and keep looking nice.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from So not worth the trouble, mediocre appearance & horrible for any place needing complex cuts I bought this tile to put in an 8x10 bathroom, with small linen closet. The project sounded pretty straight forward. The 12x36 tile is NOT flexible as shown in the video. It is NOT easy to cut around doorways (to go into and around the linen closet door jams). The pattern is too quick to repeat and you end up with identical tiles next to each other. Plus the grout line has a straight line in the middle which makes it look just like you have installed the 12x12 peel and stick tiles. The flooring sticky strips adhere to each other sooooo quickly there is no room for error. The seams are obvious, even when done perfectly. I wish I had installed the 12x12 peel and stick tiles. That would have been easier, better to alternate the pattern, and would've saved me time and money for the same look. I am beyond disappointed - I feel misled. I encourage you to go with real porcelain or ceramic tile. I have in the past and will go with real tile next time. Never again for me - never again.

What we learned from the install: Be very careful that the liner you use under the flooring does not manage to bunch up. I had that underlayment taped tightly but somehow it bunched up under the flooring and was not noticed until about a month afterwards when it started to push up one area of the floor. We cannot get to that area so eventually we will have to probably replace either the whole floor or half of it to get to that section. Once you lay the flooring, it's done. It is a "floating floor", which means all the pieces become one giant piece. It is a beautiful print. We have three kids and a dog and it has held up so far, as it should. I had to pass on the project to my husband as geometry is his thing, not mine. Once it got to the angles and cuts I threw in the towel rather than waste so much flooring to get it right. It wasn't easy for him either as he is very detail oriented and had a hard enough time cutting to size. Be sure to have very sharp blades and straight edges.
